Around 1680 Thomas Marlay was born to Captain Anthony Marlay [aged 30] and Elizabeth Morgan [aged 30] at Creevagh Beg.
Before 1691 [his father] Captain Anthony Marlay [aged 40] died.
In 1715 Thomas Marlay [aged 35] was elected MP Limavady.
In 1720 Thomas Marlay [aged 40] was appointed Attorney General for Ireland.
In 1720 Thomas Marlay [aged 40] was appointed Solicitor General for Ireland.
In 1727 Thomas Marlay [aged 47] was elected MP Lanesborough.
In 1730 Thomas Marlay [aged 50] was appointed Lord Chief Baron.
In 1741 Thomas Marlay [aged 61] was appointed Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench in Ireland.
In 1745 Thomas Marlay [aged 65] presided over the 1745 Annesley vs Lord Anglesey Case case in which James Annesley [aged 29] sought to claim his inheritance as 6th Earl Anglesey from his uncle Richard Annesley 6th Earl Anglesey [aged 52] who had previously had him kidnapped to avoid his receiving his inheritance. The case went in favour of James Annesley but he died before receiving his estates. His uncle died a year later.
Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.
