Louis II Count Loon was born to Gerard Count Loon and Adelaide Guelders.
In 1135 [his father] Gerard Count Loon and [his mother] Adelaide Guelders were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Henry I Count Guelders [aged 18] and [his grandmother] Agnes Arnstein Countess Guelders [aged 13]. He the son of Louis I Count Loon [aged 27] and Agnes Metz Countess Loon [aged 21].
On 2nd November 1191 [his father] Gerard Count Loon was killed in Acre [Map]. His son Louis succeeded II Count Loon.
In 1203 Louis II Count Loon and Ada Gerulfing I Countess Holland [aged 15] were married. She by marriage Countess Holland. She the daughter of Dirk Gerulfing VII Count Holland and Adelaide Cleves Countess Holland.
On 4th November 1203 [his father-in-law] Dirk Gerulfing VII Count Holland died. His daughter [his wife] Ada [aged 15] succeeded I Countess Holland.
In 1206 [his brother] Arnold III Count Loon and [his sister-in-law] Adelaide Reginar [aged 16] were married. She the daughter of Henry Reginar VIII Duke Lower Lorraine I Duke Brabant [aged 41] and Maud Metz [aged 36].
From 1207 to 1214 Arnold III Count Loon was held hostage in England in order to guarantee the obligations of his brother Louis II and his wife Ada of Holland [aged 19] to give up the county of Holland.
Before 2nd August 1218 Louis II Count Loon was fatally poisoned. His brother Henry [aged 82] succeeded Count Loon.
On 2nd August 1218 Henry Count Loon [aged 82] was fatally poisoned a few days after his brother had been. His brother Arnold succeeded III Count Loon.
