In 1276 [his daughter] Eleanor Furnival Baroness Mauley was born to Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall and [his wife] Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. She married before 1300 Piers Mauley 2nd Baron de Mauley, son of Piers Mauley 1st Baron de Mauley and Nicola Gaunt, and had issue.

Before 1286 [his brother-in-law] Hugh "Elder" Despencer 1st Earl Winchester and Isabella Beauchamp were married. She the daughter of William Beauchamp 9th Earl Warwick and Maud Fitzjohn Countess Warwick.

On 12th May 1291 [his father] Thomas Furnival died.

Around 1293 [his daughter] Maud Furnival was born to Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall and [his wife] Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall. She married 1. Roger Zouche, son of Alan Zouche 1st Baron Zouche Ashby and Eleanor Segrave 2. after 1313 John Marmion and had issue.

On 24th June 1295 King Edward I of England created new baronies through writs for summons to his 36th Parliament

The precedence is based on his being summoned to a Parliament by Simon de Montfort 6th Earl of Leicester 1st Earl Chester, the validity of which is subject to discussion.

In 1322 [his wife] Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall died.

Before 8th June 1322 Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall and Elizabeth Montfort Baroness Furnivall Baroness Montagu were married. She by marriage Baroness Furnivall.

On 3rd February 1332 Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall died at Sheffield. [his son] Thomas Furnival 2nd Baron Furnivall succeeded 2nd Baron Furnivall. Joan Verdun Baroness Furnivall by marriage Baroness Furnivall.

In August 1345 [his former wife] Elizabeth Montfort Baroness Furnivall Baroness Montagu died. She was buried at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.

[his daughter] Katherine Furnival was born to Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall and Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall.

[his daughter] Aline Furnival was born to Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall and Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall.

[his son] Thomas Furnival 2nd Baron Furnivall was born to Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall and Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall. He married Joan Verdun Baroness Furnivall and had issue.
