Around 1244 Sayer IV Sutton was born to Sayer III Sutton [aged 29] at Holderness. He married Anne Ros and had issue.
In 1247 John Sampson was born at Holderness.
On 24th June 1270 John Sutton 1st Baron Sutton was born to Sayer IV Sutton [aged 26] and Anne Ros [aged 26] at Holderness. He married Constantia Sampson Baroness Lexington and had issue.
Around 1305 William Sutton was born to John Sutton 1st Baron Sutton [aged 34] and Constantia Sampson Baroness Lexington [aged 32] at Holderness.
In 1306 Sayer III Sutton [aged 91] died at Holderness.
In 1315 Thomas Sutton was born to John Sutton 1st Baron Sutton [aged 44] and Constantia Sampson Baroness Lexington [aged 42] at Holderness.
In 1338 John Sutton 1st Baron Sutton [aged 67] died at Holderness. His son John [aged 30] succeeded 2nd Baron Sutton of Holderness although it isn't clear whether he was summoned to Parliament.
Before 10th February 1346 Constantia Sampson Baroness Lexington [aged 73] died at Holderness.
William of Worcester's Chronicle of England
William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

In 1356 Constance Sutton Baroness Haversham was born to Thomas Sutton [aged 41] at Holderness. She married (1) before 1360 John Godard and had issue (2) before 9th October 1371 Piers Mauley 4th Baron de Mauley, son of Piers Mauley 3rd Baron de Mauley and Margaret Clifford Baroness Mauley.

On 3rd September 1292 King Edward I of England [aged 53] stayed for two days at Burstwick Castle [Map] on his return from Scotland. During his stay visited Wyke, a small settlement on the River Hull. Edward ordered a survey of the site and within a few years purchased it from Meaux Abbey [Map]. By 1299, Wyke had been granted a royal charter and renamed King's Town upon Hull [Map] – the origins of the city we know today.

On 2nd November 1304 Walter Fauconberg 1st Baron Fauconberg [aged 84] died at Withernwick Holderness. His son Walter [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Baron Fauconberg.
