The London Gazette 9947. Whitehall, November 13 [1759]. The King has been pleated to grant unto Sir Samuel Fludyer [aged 55], Knt. Alderman of the City of London, and his Heirs Male, and in Default of such Issue, to Thomas Fludyer, of the said City of London, Esq; Brother to the said Sir Samuel Fludyer, and his Heirs Male, the Dignity of a Baronet of the Kingdom of Great Britain.

In 1876 Samuel Fludyer 3rd Baronet [aged 76] died. His grandfather had been estimated to be the wealthiest man in England at the time of his death so there was a substantial fortune at stake. His father's will stipulated that should Samuel die without heirs, the bulk of the fortune should pass to Samuel's great-uncle, George Fludyer or his heirs, however £80,000 was left to Samuel's discretion to bequeath as he saw fit. Obviously while considered insane, he was not given any say in the disposition of his wealth while alive, and his sisters ultimately inherited the full £80,000 between them. The remainder passed to His first cousin John Henry Fludyer [aged 73] who also succeeded 4th Baronet Fludyer.
On 9th September 1876 Arthur John Fludyer 5th Baronet [aged 31] and Augusta Borough Lady Fludyer [aged 34] were married. She by marriage Lady Fludyer. They were first cousins.
In 1896 John Henry Fludyer 4th Baronet [aged 93] died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Ayston. His son Arthur [aged 51] succeeded 5th Baronet Fludyer.
On 27th January 1922 Arthur John Fludyer 5th Baronet [aged 77] died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Ayston where he has a mural memorial. Baronet Fludyer extinct.
