The King has been pleased to grant the Dignities of Baron and Earl of the Kingdom of Great Britain to Sir John Jervis [aged 62], KB Admiral of the Blue, and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully begotten, by the Name, Stile and Title of Baron Jervis, of Medsord in the County of Stafford, and Earl of St Vincent.
