The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. Originally penned in Latin by the monk William of Jumièges shortly before 1060 and later expanded at the behest of William the Conqueror, the work chronicles the deeds, politics, battles, and leadership of the Norman dukes, especially William’s own claim to the English throne. On 21st February 1883 Wilbraham Egerton 1st Baron Egerton Tatton [aged 76] died. His son Wilbraham [aged 51] succeeded 2nd Baron Egerton Tatton. Mary Amherst Baroness Egerton [aged 45] by marriage Baroness Egerton Tatton.

On 16th March 1909 Wilbraham Egerton 1st Earl Egerton [aged 77] died. Earl Egerton extinct. His brother Alan [aged 63] succeeded 3rd Baron Egerton Tatton. Anna Louisa Taylor Baroness Egerton [aged 58] by marriage Baroness Egerton Tatton.

On 9th September 1920 Alan Egerton 3rd Baron Egerton Tatton [aged 75] died. He was buried at St Mary's Church, Rostherne, Tatton [Map]. His son Maurice [aged 45] succeeded 4th Baron Egerton Tatton.

On 30th January 1958 Maurice Egerton 4th Baron Egerton [aged 83] died. Baron Egerton Tatton extinct.
