Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans
Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

On 30th October 1741 Angelica Kauffmann was born in Chur Graubünden.
In 1742 Angelica Kauffmann moved to Morbegno Sondrio Lombardy.
In 1762 Angelica Kauffmann [aged 20] became a member of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze.
In 1766 Angelica Kauffmann [aged 24] was persuaded by Baroness Wentworth [aged 13], wife of the Ambassador to Venice to accompany her to England. The identity of Baroness Wentworth is somewhat difficult. Probably Mary Henley Countess Ligonier daughter of Robert Henley 1st Earl Northington [aged 58] who subsequently married Thomas Noel 2nd Viscount Wentworth [aged 20] in 1788.

Frances Elizabeth Greville Lady Harpur: On 11th May 1744 she was born to Francis Greville 1st Earl Brooke Warwick Castle 1st Earl Warwick and Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Brooke Warwick Castle and Warwick. In 1762 Henry Harpur 6th Baronet and she were married. She the daughter of Francis Greville 1st Earl Brooke Warwick Castle 1st Earl Warwick and Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Brooke Warwick Castle and Warwick. On 6th April 1825 Frances Elizabeth Greville Lady Harpur died.
On 10th December 1768 the Royal Academy was founded through a personal act of King George III [aged 30] "to establish a school or academy of design for the use of students in the arts" with an annual exhibition.

Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough: On 10th April 1767 she was born to John Stewart 7th Earl Galloway and Anne Dashwood Countess Galloway. On 15th September 1791 George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough and she were married. She the daughter of John Stewart 7th Earl Galloway and Anne Dashwood Countess Galloway. He the son of George Spencer 4th Duke of Marlborough and Caroline Russell Duchess of Marlborough. On 29th January 1817 George Spencer 4th Duke of Marlborough died. His son George succeeded 5th Duke Marlborough, 5th Marquess of Blandford, 5th Earl of Marlborough, 5th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 7th Earl of Sunderland, 9th Baron Spencer Wormleighton. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. On 2nd April 1841 Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough died.

Jean de Waurin's Chronicle of England Volume 6 Books 3-6: The Wars of the Roses
Jean de Waurin was a French Chronicler, from the Artois region, who was born around 1400, and died around 1474. Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

Eleanor Todd Countess Lauderdale: In 1762 she was born to Anthony Todd. On 15th August 1782 James Maitland 8th Earl Lauderdale and she were married. He the son of John Maitland 7th Earl Lauderdale and Mary Turner Lombe Countess Launderdale. On 17th August 1789 John Maitland 7th Earl Lauderdale died at Haltoun House, Ratho. His son James succeeded 8th Earl Lauderdale, 8th Viscount Maitland, 8th Viscount Lauderdale, 4th Baronet Maitland of Ravelrig in Nova Scotia. She by marriage Countess Lauderdale. In 1856 she died.

John Campbell 1st Marquess Breadalbane: On 30th March 1762 he was born to Colin Campbell of Carwhin. On 26th January 1782 John Campbell 3rd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland died. His third cousin John succeeded 4th Earl Breadalbaine and Holland. In 1831 John Campbell 1st Marquess Breadalbane was created 1st Marquess Breadalbane. On 29th March 1834 John Campbell 1st Marquess Breadalbane died at Taymouth Castle. His son John succeeded 2nd Marquess Breadalbane, 5th Earl Breadalbaine and Holland.
On 5th November 1807 Angelica Kauffmann [aged 66] died in Rome, Italy [Map].
