Victor Basil John Seely 4th Baronet 1900-1980

On 18th May 1900 Victor Basil John Seely 4th Baronet was born to Charles Hilton Seely 2nd Baronet [aged 40].

On 16th April 1915 [his grandfather] Charles Seely 1st Baronet [aged 81] died. His son [his father] Charles [aged 55] succeeded 2nd Baronet Seely of Brooke in the Isle of Wight.

On 16th July 1918 John Bridger Shiffner 6th Baronet [aged 18] and [his future wife] Sybil Helen Gibbons Lady Shiffner [aged 20] were married. She by marriage Lady Shiffner of Coombe in Sussex. He was killed in action ten weeks later.

On 20th July 1921 [his brother-in-law] Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont 2nd Viscount Allendale [aged 30] and [his sister] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale [aged 24] were married at St Martin in the Fields Church [Map].

On 22nd September 1922 Victor Basil John Seely 4th Baronet [aged 22] and Sybil Helen Gibbons Lady Shiffner [aged 24] were married.

On 28th July 1923 [his son] Nigel Edward Seely 5th Baronet was born to Victor Basil John Seely 4th Baronet [aged 23] and [his wife] Sybil Helen Gibbons Lady Shiffner [aged 25].

On 12th December 1923 Wentworth Canning Blackett Beaumont 1st Viscount Allendale [aged 63] died. His son [his brother-in-law] Wentworth [aged 33] succeeded 2nd Viscount Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland, 3rd Baron Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland. [his sister] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale [aged 26] by marriage Viscountess Allendale of Allendale and Hexham in Northumberland.

On 26th February 1926 [his father] Charles Hilton Seely 2nd Baronet [aged 66] died. His son [his brother] Hugh [aged 27] succeeded 3rd Baronet Seely of Brooke in the Isle of Wight.

Before 16th January 1931, the date he remarried, Victor Basil John Seely 4th Baronet [aged 30] and Sybil Helen Gibbons Lady Shiffner [aged 32] were divorced.

On 1st April 1970 Hugh Michael Seely 1st Baron Sherwood [aged 71] died. Baron Sherwood of Calverton in Nottinghamshire extinct. His brother Victor [aged 69] succeeded 4th Baronet Seely of Brooke in the Isle of Wight.

On 6th May 1979 [his sister] Violet Lucy Emily Seely Viscountess Allendale [aged 82] died.

On 10th May 1980 Victor Basil John Seely 4th Baronet [aged 79] died. His son Nigel [aged 56] succeeded 5th Baronet Seely of Brooke in the Isle of Wight.

On 12th July 1994 [his former wife] Sybil Helen Gibbons Lady Shiffner [aged 96] died.
