Paternal Family Tree: Trelawny
Before 15th February 1687 [his father] Brigadier-General Henry Trelawny [aged 29] and [his mother] Rebecca Hals [aged 26] were married. She a co-heiress of her brother Matthew Hals (d.1684) of Efford, from whom she inherited the manor of Efford. They had two sons and three daughters. Some sources describe the date of their marriage as 8th January 1690 which is inconsistent with the dates of birth of their two eldest children Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet and [his sister] Mary Trelawny.
On 15th February 1687 Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet was born to Brigadier-General Henry Trelawny [aged 29] and Rebecca Hals [aged 26].
In 1699 [his mother] Rebecca Hals [aged 38] died.
On 26th March 1701 [his father] Brigadier-General Henry Trelawny [aged 43] and Mary Trevill were married. There was no issue from the marriage.
On 8th January 1702 [his father] Brigadier-General Henry Trelawny [aged 44] died.
On 19th January 1703 Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet [aged 15] matriculated Christ Church College, Oxford University.
On 23rd May 1706 Arnold Keppel 1st Earl Albermarle [aged 36] and Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet [aged 19] were present at Ramilles during the Battle of Ramilles.
Colonel James Gardiner [aged 18] was shot through the mouth and nearly killed by a French soldier who had returned to plunder the dead. However, Gardiner was spared after being mistaken for a French soldier.
In 1708 Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet [aged 20] was elected MP East Looe.
On 17th July 1716 Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet [aged 29] and Letitia Trelawny were married. She the elder sister of John Trelawny 4th Baronet [aged 24]. They had been courting for many years before her father Bishop Jonathan Trelawny 3rd Baronet [aged 66] consented to their marriage. They had a son, who predeceased him, and three daughters, one of whom, Laetitia, also married a cousin. She the daughter of Bishop Jonathan Trelawny 3rd Baronet and Rebecca Hele Lady Trelawny. They were first cousins.
In 1728 [his daughter] Laetitia Trelawny was born to Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet [aged 40] and [his wife] Letitia Trelawny. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.64%. She married 25th June 1754 her first cousin William Trelawny 6th Baronet and had issue.
On 25th June 1754 [his son-in-law] William Trelawny 6th Baronet [aged 32] and Laetitia Trelawny [aged 26] were married at Maker, Cornwall. They had a son and a daughter. They were first cousins.
Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes
Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut. On 2nd February 1756 [his brother-in-law] John Trelawny 4th Baronet [aged 64] died. His first cousin Harry [aged 68] succeeded 5th Baronet Trelawny of Trelawny in Cornwall.
On 7th April 1762 Harry Trelawny 5th Baronet [aged 75] died. His nephew [his son-in-law] William [aged 40] succeeded 6th Baronet Trelawny of Trelawny in Cornwall.
