Around 1015 Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon was born to Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona [aged 21] and Muniadona García Queen Consort Pamplona.

In or before 1033 Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon [aged 17] and Sancha Astur Leonese [aged 14] were married. She the daughter of Alfonso "Noble" V King Leon and Elvira González Queen Consort Leon. He the son of Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona [aged 38] and Muniadona García Queen Consort Pamplona. They were half second cousins.

In 1033 [his daughter] Urraca Jiménez was born to Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon [aged 18] and [his wife] Sancha Astur Leonese [aged 15].

On 18th October 1035 [his father] Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona [aged 41] died. His son [his illegitimate half-brother] Ramiro [aged 28] succeeded I King Aragon.

On 22nd August 1036 [his illegitimate half-brother] Ramiro Sánchez I King Aragon [aged 29] and [his sister-in-law] Gisberga or Ermesinda Bigorre Queen Consort Aragon [aged 21] were married. He the illegitmate son of [his father] Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona and Sancha Aibar.

Around 1037 [his son] Sancho "Strong" II King Leon II King Castile was born to Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon [aged 22] and [his wife] Sancha Astur Leonese [aged 19].

In 1037 [his brother-in-law] Bermudo III King Leon [aged 22] died. His half second cousin Ferdinand [aged 22] succeeded I King Leon.

In 1038 [his brother] García III King Pamplona [aged 26] and [his sister-in-law] Stephanie Foix Queen Consort Pamplona were married. She by marriage Queen Consort Pamplona. He the son of [his father] Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona and [his mother] Muniadona García Queen Consort Pamplona.

He married (1) 1069 Agnes Poitiers Queen Consort Leon Queen Consort Castile, daughter of Guy William Poitiers VIII Duke Aquitaine and Mateoda Duchess Aquitaine (2) 1079 Constance Burgundy Queen Consort Castile and Leon, daughter of Robert I Duke Burgundy and Helie Samur Duchess Burgundy, and had issue.

In April 1043 [his son] García Jiménez was born to Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon [aged 28] and [his wife] Sancha Astur Leonese [aged 25].

On 15th September 1054 [his brother] García III King Pamplona [aged 42] died in Barcelona [Map]. His son [his nephew] Sancho succeeded IV King Pamplona.

On 24th December 1065 Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon [aged 50] died. His son Sancho [aged 28] succeeded II King Castile.

On 27th November 1067 [his former wife] Sancha Astur Leonese [aged 49] died.
