Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor was born to John Bligh 1st Earl Darnley and Theodosia Hyde.

In February 1713 [her uncle] Edward Hyde 9th Baron Clifton died. His sister [her mother] Theodosia [aged 17] succeeded 10th Baroness Clifton of Leighton Bromswold in Huntingdonshire.

In August 1713 [her father] John Bligh 1st Earl Darnley [aged 26] and [her mother] Theodosia Hyde [aged 17] were married. She the daughter of [her grandfather] Edward Hyde 3rd Earl Clarendon [aged 51] and [her grandmother] Katherine O'Brien.

On 30th July 1722 [her mother] Theodosia Hyde [aged 26] died in childbirth. Her son [her brother] Edward [aged 7] succeeded 11th Baron Clifton of Leighton Bromswold in Huntingdonshire.

In 1725 [her father] John Bligh 1st Earl Darnley [aged 38] was created 1st Earl Darnley.

In 1728 [her future husband] Robert Hawkins-Magill [aged 24] and Rachel Skeffington Countess Antrim were married.

In 1728 [her father] John Bligh 1st Earl Darnley [aged 41] died. His son [her brother] Edward [aged 13] succeeded 2nd Earl Darnley.

On 17th September 1742 Robert Hawkins-Magill [aged 38] and Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor were married. She the daughter of John Bligh 1st Earl Darnley and Theodosia Hyde.

On 5th September 1743 [her daughter] Theodosia Magill Countess Clanwilliam was born to [her husband] Robert Hawkins-Magill [aged 39] and Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor. She married 29th August 1765 John Meade 1st Earl of Clanwilliam and had issue.

Memoires of Jacques du Clercq

This is a translation of the 'Memoires of Jacques du Clercq', published in 1823 in two volumes, edited by Frederic, Baron de Reissenberg. In his introduction Reissenberg writes: 'Jacques du Clercq tells us that he was born in 1424, and that he was a licentiate in law and a counsellor to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, in the castellany of Douai, Lille, and Orchies. It appears that he established his residence at Arras. In 1446, he married the daughter of Baldwin de la Lacherie, a gentleman who lived in Lille. We read in the fifth book of his Memoirs that his father, also named Jacques du Clercq, had married a lady of the Le Camelin family, from Compiègne. His ancestors, always attached to the counts of Flanders, had constantly served them, whether in their councils or in their armies.' The Memoires cover a period of nineteen years beginning in in 1448, ending in in 1467. It appears that the author had intended to extend the Memoirs beyond that date; no doubt illness or death prevented him from carrying out this plan. As Reissenberg writes the 'merit of this work lies in the simplicity of its narrative, in its tone of good faith, and in a certain air of frankness which naturally wins the reader’s confidence.' Du Clercq ranges from events of national and international importance, including events of the Wars of the Roses in England, to simple, everyday local events such as marriages, robberies, murders, trials and deaths, including that of his own father in Book 5; one of his last entries.

In December 1747 Bernard Ward 1st Viscount Bangor [aged 28] and Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor were married. She the daughter of John Bligh 1st Earl Darnley and Theodosia Hyde.

On 5th December 1750 [her son] Nicholas Ward 2nd Viscount Bangor was born to [her husband] Bernard Ward 1st Viscount Bangor [aged 31] and Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor.

On 30th April 1753 [her son] Edward Ward was born to [her husband] Bernard Ward 1st Viscount Bangor [aged 33] and Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor.

On 29th August 1765 [her son-in-law] John Meade 1st Earl of Clanwilliam [aged 21] and [her daughter] Theodosia Magill Countess Clanwilliam [aged 21] were married.

The King has been pleased to order Letters Patent, containing a Grant unto [her husband] Bernard Ward [aged 50], Esq; and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully begotten, of the Dignity of Baron of the said Kingdom, by the Name, Stile, and Title of Baron Bangor of Castle Ward in the County of Downe. [Ann Bligh Viscountess Bangor by marriage Baroness Bangor of Castle Ward in County Downe.]

On 31st July 1781 [her brother] John Bligh 3rd Earl Darnley [aged 61] died. His son [her nephew] John [aged 14] succeeded 4th Earl Darnley, 13th Baron Clifton of Leighton Bromswold in Huntingdonshire.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.
