Commission to Jasper, earl of Pembroke [aged 25], James, earl of Wiltshire [aged 36], Ralph de Sudeley [aged 68], knight, John Beauchamp of Powyk [aged 48], knight, and the sheriff of Gloucester, reciting that whereas the king at the suit of Alice Veell, widow, caused writs to be directed to Thomas de la Hay, Thomas Holte, William Tyffyn, Nicholas Kyng, Maurice Kyng and Roger Clyff to appear before the king and council on a certain day to answer touching riots and offences done to her by them, and because Thomas de la Hay received his writ and the others withdrew in order that the writs should not be delivered to them, and they appeared not, the king by other writs caused proclamation to be made in London and the said county that they should appear before the council or chancellor within a month after the last day of proclamation, pursuant to the ordinance made in the Parliament held at Redyng in 31 Henry VI, which writs were duly returned by the sheriffs of London and Gloucestershire, yet they appeared not; and appointing the said commissioners to arrest and bring them before the king in Chancery to answer touching the premises. By the Chancellor.
After 1466 Thomas Burdett of Arrow in Warwickshire [aged 41] was in the service of John Beauchamp 1st Baron Beauchamp Powick [aged 57], Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley [aged 77] and George York 1st Duke of Clarence [aged 16].
On 9th April 1475 John Beauchamp 1st Baron Beauchamp Powick [aged 66] died at Powick, Worcestershire. He was buried at Worcester Cathedral [Map]. His son Richard [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Baron Beauchamp Powick in Worcestershire.
On 29th January 1487 [his former wife] Margaret Ferrers Baroness Beauchamp Powick [aged 74] died. She was buried at Worcester Cathedral [Map].
