On 4th November 1661 William Morgan [aged 21] and Blanche Morgan were married. She brought a huge dowry to the marriage enabling the building of Tredegar House, Monmouthshire.

In 1680 William Morgan [aged 40] died. Thomas Morgan [aged 15] inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire.

On 16th September 1700 Thomas Morgan [aged 36] died of smallpox. John Morgan of Tredegar [aged 29] inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire and estates worth £7000.

On 7th March 1720 John Morgan of Tredegar [aged 49] died. William Morgan [aged 19] inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire.

On 24th April 1731 William Morgan [aged 31] died. Thomas Morgan of Rhiwpera [aged 28] inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire.

On 15th May 1771 Thomas Morgan of Rhiwpera [aged 43] died unmarried. Charles Morgan [aged 35] inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire.

On 24th May 1787 Charles Morgan [aged 51] died. John Morgan [aged 45] inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire.

On 27th June 1792 John Morgan [aged 50] died. His sister Jane Morgan [aged 61] and her husband Charles Gould aka Morgan 1st Baronet [aged 66] and inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire on condition he changed his name from Gould to Morgan which he did by royal licence on 20th November 1792. His children including Charles Gould aka Morgan 2nd Baronet [aged 32] also changed their surname.

On 7th December 1806 Charles Gould aka Morgan 1st Baronet [aged 80] died at Tredegar House, Monmouthshire. His son Charles [aged 46] succeeded 2nd Baronet Morgan of Tredegar.

On 25th October 1854 during the Battle of Balaclava George Charles Bingham 3rd Earl Lucan [aged 54] gave the order for the Charge of the Light Brigade which was then led by his brother-in-law James Brudenell 7th Earl Cardigan [aged 57].

Hedworth Jolliffe 2nd Baron Hylton [aged 25] took part.

Godfrey Morgan 1st Viscount Tredegar [aged 23] was in command of a section of the Light Brigade. His horse "Sir Briggs" survived, died aged twenty-eight and was buried in the Cedar Garden at Tredegar House, Monmouthshire where there is a monument to him.

Thomas Hutton took part. He was shot through the right thigh during the advance, and on returning from the guns he was again severely wounded through the left thigh.

George Orby Wombwell 4th Baronet [aged 21] took part and survived. His horse was killed under him and he was shortly after pulled off and taken prisoner, his sword and pistols being taken from him by some Russian Lancers. He managed to escape, catch another loose horse and ride back to the British lines, pursued by Russians.

Fiennes Wykeham-Martin Cornwallis [aged 22] took part.
