On 19th February 1674 Thomas Coke was born to John Coke [aged 21] in Melbourne, Derbyshire [Map]. He was baptised on the same day.
In 1698 Thomas Coke [aged 23] was elected MP Derby at the 1698 General Election which seat he held until December 1701.
In June 1698 Thomas Coke [aged 24] and Mary Stanhope [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of Philip Stanhope 2nd Earl Chesterfield [aged 64] and Elizabeth Dormer Countess Chesterfield.
In 1702 Thomas Coke [aged 27] was elected MP Derbyshire at the 1702 General Election.
In 1704 [his wife] Mary Stanhope [aged 30] died.
In 1705 Thomas Coke [aged 30] was elected MP Derbyshire at the 1705 General Election.
In December 1706 Thomas Coke [aged 32] exchanged offices with Peregrine Bertie [aged 20]. Thomas Coke was appointed Vice-Chamberlain of the Household which position he held for the rest of his life.
In 1708 Thomas Coke [aged 33] was appointed Privy Council.
In 1708 Thomas Coke [aged 33] was elected MP Derbyshire at the 1708 General Election.
On 15th October 1709 Thomas Coke [aged 35] and Mary Hale were married.
In 1710 Thomas Coke [aged 35] was elected MP Grampound at the 1710 General Election.
On 26th January 1719 [his daughter] Charlotte Coke was born to Thomas Coke [aged 44] and [his wife] Mary Hale. She married in or before 1743 Matthew Lamb 1st Baronet and had issue.
In March 1719 [his son-in-law] Thomas Southwell 2nd Baron Southwell [aged 21] and [his daughter] Mary Coke Baroness Southwell were married.

On 11th May 1727 Thomas Coke [aged 53] died.
Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'
