Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley 1894-1989

On 19th October 1887 [her father] Edward Albert Sassoon 2nd Baronet [aged 31] and [her mother] Aline Caroline de Rothschild [aged 19] were married two days before her twentieth birthday in a ceremony in the synagogue at the Rue de la Victoire in Paris. The couple set up home at 25 Kensington Gore, where Aline, a talented artist, set up her own studio.

On 30th January 1894 Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley was born to Edward Albert Sassoon 2nd Baronet [aged 37] and Aline Caroline de Rothschild [aged 26].

On 24th October 1896 [her grandfather] Albert aka Abdullah Sassoon 1st Baronet [aged 78] died. His son [her father] Edward [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Baronet Sassoon of Kensington-gore in London.

On 28th July 1909 [her mother] Aline Caroline de Rothschild [aged 41] died.

On 24th May 1912 [her father] [her brother] Edward Albert Sassoon 2nd Baronet [aged 55] died. He was buried in the Sassoon Mausoleum. His son Philip [aged 23] succeeded 3rd Baronet Sassoon of Kensington-gore in London.

On 6th August 1913 George Cholmondeley 5th Marquess Cholmondeley [aged 30] and Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 19] were married. He the son of George Cholmondeley 4th Marquess Cholmondeley [aged 55] and Winifred Kingscote Marchioness Cholmondeley.

On 24th April 1919 [her son] [her husband] Hugh Cholmondeley 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley was born to George Cholmondeley 5th Marquess Cholmondeley [aged 35] and Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 25]. He married 14th June 1947 Lavinia Margaret Leslie Marchioness Cholmondeley and had issue.

On 16th March 1923 [her father-in-law] [her husband] George Cholmondeley 4th Marquess Cholmondeley [aged 64] died. His son George [aged 39] succeeded 5th Marquess Cholmondeley, 8th Earl Cholmondeley in Cheshire, 5th Earl Rocksavage of Cheshire, 9th Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells in County Meath, 8th Viscount Malpas in Cheshire, 8th Baron Cholmondeley Nampwich in Cheshire, 7th Baron Newburgh of Newburgh in Anglesey, 7th Baron Newborough of Newborough in County Wexford. Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 29] by marriage Marchioness Cholmondeley.

On 14th June 1947 Hugh Cholmondeley 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley [aged 28] and Lavinia Margaret Leslie Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 25] were married. He the son of George Cholmondeley 5th Marquess Cholmondeley [aged 64] and Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 53].

On 16th September 1968 [her husband] George Cholmondeley 5th Marquess Cholmondeley [aged 85] died. His son Hugh [aged 49] succeeded 6th Marquess Cholmondeley, 9th Earl Cholmondeley in Cheshire, 6th Earl Rocksavage of Cheshire, 10th Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells in County Meath, 9th Viscount Malpas in Cheshire, 9th Baron Cholmondeley Nampwich in Cheshire, 8th Baron Newburgh of Newburgh in Anglesey, 8th Baron Newborough of Newborough in County Wexford. Lavinia Margaret Leslie Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 47] by marriage Marchioness Cholmondeley.

On 26th December 1989 Sybil Sassoon Marchioness Cholmondeley [aged 95] died.
