On 28th May 1745 Johnathan "The Elder" Richardson [aged 78] died in Bloomsbury.
Samuel Pepys' Diary. 26th April 1668. Lord's Day. Lay long, and then up and to Church, and so home, where there come and dined with me Harris [aged 34], Rolt [aged 39], and Bannister, and one Bland, that sings well also, and very merry at dinner, and, after dinner, to sing all the afternoon. But when all was done, I did begin to think that the pleasure of these people was not worth so often charge and cost to me, as it hath occasioned me. They being gone I and Balty [aged 28] walked as far as Charing Cross [Map], and there got a coach and to Hales's [aged 68] the painter, thinking to have found Harris sitting there for his picture, which is drawing for me. But he, and all this day's company, and Hales, were got to the Crown tavern, at next door, and thither I to them and stayed a minute, leaving Captain Grant [aged 48] telling pretty stories of people that have killed themselves, or been accessory to it, in revenge to other people, and to mischief other people, and thence with Hales to his house, and there did see his beginning of Harris's picture, which I think will be pretty like, and he promises a very good picture.
On 28th December 1902 Bishop John Wogan Festing [aged 65] died unmarried at 21 Endsleigh Street, Bloomsbury.
On 24th June 1821 Lucie Austin was born to John Austin [aged 31] at Queen Square, Bloomsbury. She married 16th May 1840 Alexander Cornewall Duff-Gordon 3rd Baronet, son of William Duff-Gordon 2nd Baronet and Caroline Cornewall Lady Duff-Gordon, and had issue.
On 16th May 1840 Alexander Cornewall Duff-Gordon 3rd Baronet [aged 29] and Lucie Austin [aged 18] were married. The couple lived at 8 Queen Square, Bloomsbury.
1871. The census records William Morris [aged 36], Jane Morris nee Burden [aged 31], Elizabeth Burden, sister-in-law, Jane Alicia Morris [aged 9], Mary "May" Morris [aged 8] and three servants living at 21 Queen Square, Bloomsbury.
On 26th July 1717 Charles Cadogan 2nd Baron Cadogan [aged 32] and Elizabeth Sloane Baroness Cadogan [aged 22] were married at Church of St George the Martyr, Queen Square. The marriage transferred the 250-acre (1.0 km2) Sloane estate in suburban Chelsea to the Cadogan family, which has been the basis of the family wealth ever since.
On 1st July 1738 Coventry Carew 6th Baronet [aged 21] and Mary Bampfylde Lady Carew were married at Church of St George the Martyr, Queen Square. They were first cousins.
On 26th December 1823 John Dunn-Gardner [aged 12] was baptised John Townshend at Church of St George the Martyr, Queen Square.
Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke
Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

Before 1880 Maria Terpsithea Cassavetti aka Zambaco [aged 36] studied art at the Slade School of Art under Alphonse Legros and Auguste Rodin.
Around 1902 Ambrose McEvoy [aged 24] enrolled at the Slade School of Art.
From 1908 to 1912 Stanley Spencer [aged 16] studied at the Slade School of Art under Henry Tonks. So attached to Cookham most days he would take the train back home in time for tea. It even became his nickname.
In 1918 Daphne Baring [aged 13] enrolled at the Slade School of Art at which she studied for two years. It was during this time that she met her future husband Arthur Pollen [aged 18].
In 1919 Arthur Pollen [aged 19] began his studies at the Slade School of Art where he studied until 1923. It was during this time that he met his future wife Daphne Baring [aged 14].
Around 1660 Southampton Square was developed on behalf of Thomas Wriothesley 4th Earl of Southampton 2nd Earl Chichester [aged 52]. The Earl's house Southampton House, subsequently Bedford House, occupied the north side.
On 24th November 1679 John "Old Sir John" Brownlow 1st Baronet [aged 89] died without issue. Baronet Brownlow of Belton in Lincolnshire extinct. He left Belton House [Map] to his great-nephew John Brownlow 3rd Baronet [aged 20] (grand-son of his brother William Brownlow 1st Baronet) and niece Alice Sherard Baroness Brownlow [aged 20] (grand-daughter of his sister Elizabeth Brownlow ) who had married three years before in 1676. He also left them an income of £9,000 per annum and £20,000 in cash. They immediately bought a townhouse in Southampton Square.
On 9th April 1694 Southampton Square was the location of a duel between 23-year-old Scottish economist and financier John Law and Edward 'Beau' Wilson. Law killed Wilton with a single pass and thrust of his sword. Law would be convicted of murder and sentenced to death, but would escape his condemned cell and go on to become the founder of the Mississippi Company and the de facto prime minister of France.

On 13th July 1795 Arthur Hill-Trevor 2nd Viscount Dungannon [aged 31] and Charlotte Fitzroy Viscountess Dungannon [aged 28] were married at her father's house on Stanhope Street. She by marriage Viscountess Dungannon.
On 21st March 1797 Charles Fitzroy 1st Baron Southampton [aged 59] died at his home on Stanhope Street. His son George [aged 35] succeeded 2nd Baron Southampton.
