Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory 1559-1633

In 1559 Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory was born to Edward Butler and Mary Burke.

Around 1581 [his son] Thomas Butler Viscount Thurles was born to Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory [aged 22] and [his future wife] Helen Butler Countess Ormonde and Ossory against his father's wishes. Coefficient of inbreeding 1.96%. He married before 1610 Elizabeth Poyntz and had issue.

Before 1610 Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory [aged 50] and Helen Butler Countess Ormonde and Ossory were married. They were second cousins.

Before 1610 Thomas Butler Viscount Thurles [aged 28] and Elizabeth Poyntz [aged 22] were married. He the son of Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory [aged 50] and Helen Butler Countess Ormonde and Ossory.

On 22nd November 1614 [his uncle] Thomas "Black Tom" Butler 10th Earl Ormonde 3rd Earl Ossory [aged 82] died. His succeeded nephew Walter [aged 55] succeeded 11th Earl Ormonde, 4th Earl Ossory. [his wife] Helen Butler Countess Ormonde and Ossory by marriage Countess Ormonde, Countess Ossory.

In 1619 Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory [aged 60] was imprisoned at Fleet Prison [Map] for opposing the King's scheme to bring an end to the feuding between the Fitzgerald and Butler families.39136:39136 Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory was in prison for eight years.

On 15th December 1619 [his son] Thomas Butler Viscount Thurles [aged 38] drowned accidentally at Skerries, Anglesey having been sent to England to answer charges of having garissoned Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny.

On 19th February 1625 [his daughter] Ellis Butler died.

In 1631 [his daughter] Elizabeth Butler was born to Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory [aged 72] and [his wife] Helen Butler Countess Ormonde and Ossory. Coefficient of inbreeding 1.96%.

On 24th February 1633 Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory [aged 74] died. His succeeded grandson James [aged 22] succeeded 12th Earl Ormonde, 5th Earl Ossory. Elizabeth Preston Duchess Ormonde [aged 17] by marriage Countess Ormonde.

On 18th June 1633 Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory was buried at St Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny.
