On 3rd October 1771 [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 31] and [his mother] Margaret Butler [aged 23] were married. She by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh.

On 11th July 1774 Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore was born to Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 34] and Margaret Butler [aged 26] at Sackville Street Dublin.

In April 1775 [his mother] Margaret Butler [aged 27] died.

On 2nd March 1780 [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 39] and [his step-mother] Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore [aged 17] were married. She by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh. The difference in their ages was 22 years. She the daughter of John Hobart 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 56] and Mary Anne Drury Countess Buckinghamshire.

On 6th December 1789 [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 49] was created 1st Viscount Belmore of Fermanagh. [his step-mother] Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore [aged 27] by marriage Viscountess Belmore of Fermanagh.

On 1st March 1794 [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 53] and [his step-mother] Mary Anne Caldwell Countess Belmore [aged 38] were married. She by marriage Viscountess Belmore of Fermanagh.

On 30th November 1797 [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 57] was created 1st Earl Belmore in the County of Fermanagh. [his step-mother] Mary Anne Caldwell Countess Belmore [aged 42] by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh.

On 20th October 1800 Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore [aged 26] and Juliana Butler Countess Belmore [aged 17] were married. He the son of Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 60] and Margaret Butler. They were first cousins.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

Coefficient of inbreeding 6.27%. He married before 9th April 1835 Emily Louise Shepherd Countess Belmore and had issue.

On 2nd February 1802 [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore [aged 61] died at Bath, Somerset [Map]. His son Somerset [aged 27] succeeded 2nd Earl Belmore in the County of Fermanagh, Viscount Belmore of Fermanagh and Baron Belmore of Castle Coole in the County of Fermanagh. [his wife] Juliana Butler Countess Belmore [aged 18] by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh.

On 9th March 1803 [his son] Henry Lowry-Corry was born to Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore [aged 28] and [his wife] Juliana Butler Countess Belmore [aged 19]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.27%. He married 1830 his half sixth cousin Harriet Anne Ashley-Cooper, daughter of Cropley Ashley-Cooper 6th Earl Shaftesbury and Anne Spencer-Churchill Countess Shaftesbury, and had issue.

On 9th July 1804 [his brother-in-law] George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich [aged 31] and [his half-sister] Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich [aged 23] were married. She the daughter of [his father] Armar Lowry-Corry 1st Earl Belmore and [his step-mother] Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore [aged 42]. He the son of John Montagu 5th Earl Sandwich [aged 60] and Maria Henrietta Powlett.

On 6th June 1814 John Montagu 5th Earl Sandwich [aged 70] died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map]. His son [his brother-in-law] George [aged 41] succeeded 6th Earl Sandwich. [his half-sister] Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich [aged 33] by marriage Countess Sandwich.

In 1828 Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore [aged 53] was appointed Governor of Jamaica which post he held until 1832.

In 1830 Henry Lowry-Corry [aged 26] and Harriet Anne Ashley-Cooper were married. She the daughter of Cropley Ashley-Cooper 6th Earl Shaftesbury [aged 61] and Anne Spencer-Churchill Countess Shaftesbury [aged 57]. He the son of Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore [aged 55] and Juliana Butler Countess Belmore [aged 46]. They were half sixth cousins.

Before 9th April 1835 Armar Lowry-Corry 3rd Earl Belmore [aged 33] and Emily Louise Shepherd Countess Belmore [aged 20] were married. He the son of Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore [aged 60] and Juliana Butler Countess Belmore [aged 51].

On 18th April 1841 Somerset Lowry-Corry 2nd Earl Belmore [aged 66] died at Leamington Spa, Warwickshire [Map]. His son Armar [aged 39] succeeded 3rd Earl Belmore in the County of Fermanagh, Viscount Belmore of Fermanagh and Baron Belmore of Castle Coole in the County of Fermanagh. Emily Louise Shepherd Countess Belmore [aged 26] by marriage Countess Belmore in the County of Fermanagh.

On 22nd July 1861 [his former wife] Juliana Butler Countess Belmore [aged 77] died.
