Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. 1031. This year returned King Knute [aged 36]; and as soon as he came to England he gave to Christ's church in Canterbury [Map] the haven of Sandwich, Kent [Map], and all the rights that arise therefrom, on either side of the haven; so that when the tide is highest and fullest, and there be a ship floating as near the land as possible, and there be a man standing upon the ship with a taper-axe in his hand, whithersoever the large taper-axe might be thrown out of the ship, throughout all that land the ministers of Christ's church should enjoy their rights. This year went King Knute to Rome; and the same year, as soon as he returned home, he went to Scotland; and Malcolm, king of the Scots [aged 77], submitted to him, and became his man, with two other kings, Macbeth and Jehmar; but he held his allegiance a little while only. Robert, Earl of Normandy [aged 30], went this year to Jerusalem [Map], where he died; and William [aged 3], who was afterwards King of England, succeeded to the earldom, though he was a child.
In 1129 Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 40] travelled to Jerusalem [Map] on pilgrimage. His son Geoffrey Plantagenet Duke Normandy [aged 15] was appointed Count Anjou.
On 2nd June 1129 Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 40] and Melisende Queen of Jerusalem [aged 24] were married at Jerusalem [Map]. She by marriage Countess Anjou. Her father [aged 54] had written to Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem requesting the marriage since he had no male heirs. She the daughter of Baldwin II King Jerusalem. He the son of Fulk "Réchin" Anjou 4th Count Anjou and Bertrade Montfort Queen Consort France.
In 1161 Baldwin IV King Jerusalem was born to Almaric I King Jerusalem [aged 25] and Agnes Courtenay Queen Jerusalem [aged 25] at Jerusalem [Map].
In 1169 Archbishop Stephen of Chateaudun [aged 32] died at Jerusalem [Map].
In August 1186 Baldwin IV King Jerusalem [aged 25] died at Jerusalem [Map]. He was buried in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre [Map]. His nephew Baldwin [aged 9] succeeded V King Jerusalem.
In 1187 Hugh Beauchamp [aged 83] died at Jerusalem [Map].
In June 1192 King Richard "Lionheart" I of England [aged 34] and the crusader army advanced on Jerusalem [Map] coming within sight of it before factionalism caused the army to retreat.
On 17th November 1437 John Howard [aged 71] died in Jerusalem [Map].
Before 27th June 1452 Edward Stradling [aged 54] died in Jerusalem [Map].
Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

Book of the Acts of the Apostles Chapter 3 Verses 2 8. 2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
