Baldwin II King Jerusalem 1075-1131

In or before 1054 [his father] Hugh I Count of Rethel [aged 13] and [his mother] Melisende of Crécy were married.

Around 1075 Baldwin II King Jerusalem was born to Hugh I Count of Rethel [aged 35] and Melisende of Crécy.

In 1105 [his daughter] Melisende Queen of Jerusalem was born to Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 30]. She married 2nd June 1129 Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem, son of Fulk "Réchin" Anjou 4th Count Anjou and Bertrade Montfort Queen Consort France, and had issue.

Around 1110 [his daughter] Alice of Antioch was born to Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 35]. She married after October 1126 Prince Bohemond II of Antioch, son of Prince Bohemond I of Antioch and Constance Capet Countess Champagne, and had issue.

In 1118 [his father] Hugh I Count of Rethel [aged 78] died.

Chronicle of William Nangis. 1118. The king of Jerusalem, Baldwin I, died; he was succeeded by Baldwin of Bourcq1, his kinsman, count of the city of Roas, which was formerly called Edessa.

Note 1. Baldwin I died on 2nd April 1118. Baldwin II of Bourcq, son of [his father] Hugh I, Count of Rethel, crowned on Easter Day in the year 1118, died on 21st August 1131.

On 2nd April 1118 Baldwin I King Jerusalem [aged 60] died. Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 43] succeeded King Jerusalem.

On 14th April 1118 Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 43] was crowned King Jerusalem.

After October 1126 [his son-in-law] Prince Bohemond II of Antioch [aged 18] and Alice of Antioch [aged 16] were married. She the daughter of Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 51]. He the son of Prince Bohemond I of Antioch and Constance Capet Countess Champagne.

On 2nd June 1129 [his son-in-law] Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 40] and Melisende Queen of Jerusalem [aged 24] were married at Jerusalem [Map]. She by marriage Countess Anjou. Her father [aged 54] had written to Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem requesting the marriage since he had no male heirs. She the daughter of Baldwin II King Jerusalem. He the son of Fulk "Réchin" Anjou 4th Count Anjou and Bertrade Montfort Queen Consort France.

On 21st August 1131 Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 56] died. [his son-in-law] Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 42] succeeded King Jerusalem. [his daughter] Melisende Queen of Jerusalem [aged 26] by marriage Queen Consort Jerusalem.
