Baldwin I King Jerusalem 1058-1118

Before 1047 [his father] Eustace II Count Boulogne [aged 31] and Goda aka Godgifu Countess Boulogne [aged 42] were married. She by marriage Countess Boulogne. She the daughter of King Æthelred II of England and Emma aka Ælfgyfu of Normandy Queen Consort England [aged 61]. He the son of [his grandfather] Eustace Flanders I Count Boulogne and [his grandmother] Matilda Reginar Countess Boulogne. They were half third cousin twice removed.

In 1058 Baldwin I King Jerusalem was born to Eustace II Count Boulogne [aged 43] and Ida of Lorraine Countess Boulogne [aged 18].

Before 1087 [his father] Eustace II Count Boulogne [aged 71] and [his mother] Ida of Lorraine Countess Boulogne [aged 46] were married. She by marriage Countess Boulogne. The difference in their ages was 25 years. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Godfrey "Bearded" Ardennes III Duke Lower Lorraine. He the son of Eustace Flanders I Count Boulogne and Matilda Reginar Countess Boulogne. They were fourth cousins.

Around 1087 [his father] Eustace II Count Boulogne [aged 72] died. His son [his brother] Eustace succeeded III Count Boulogne. [his sister-in-law] Mary Dunkeld Countess Boulogne [aged 5] by marriage Countess Boulogne.

Around 1087 [his brother] Eustace Flanders III Count Boulogne and [his sister-in-law] Mary Dunkeld Countess Boulogne [aged 5] were married. She the daughter of King Malcolm III of Scotland [aged 55] and Margaret Wessex Queen Consort Scotland [aged 42]. He the son of [his father] Eustace II Count Boulogne [aged 72] and [his mother] Ida of Lorraine Countess Boulogne [aged 47]. They were half sixth cousins.

Before 15th October 1097 Baldwin I King Jerusalem [aged 39] and Godehilde Tosny were married. He the son of Eustace II Count Boulogne and Ida of Lorraine Countess Boulogne [aged 57]. They were half fourth cousin once removed.

On 15th October 1097 [his wife] Godehilde Tosny died.

On 25th December 1100 Baldwin I King Jerusalem [aged 42] was crowned I King Jerusalem.

On 13th April 1113 [his mother] Ida of Lorraine Countess Boulogne [aged 73] died.

On 2nd April 1118 Baldwin I King Jerusalem [aged 60] died. Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 43] succeeded King Jerusalem.

Chronicle of William Nangis. 1118. The king of Jerusalem, Baldwin I, died; he was succeeded by Baldwin of Bourcq¹, his kinsman, count of the city of Roas, which was formerly called Edessa.

Note 1. Baldwin I died on 2nd April 1118. Baldwin II of Bourcq, son of Hugh I, Count of Rethel, crowned on Easter Day in the year 1118, died on 21st August 1131.
