He the son of [his grandfather] Christian Wettin I Elector Saxony and [his grandmother] Sophie of Brandenburg [aged 35]. They were half third cousin once removed.
In 1607 [his father] John George Elector Saxony [aged 21] and [his mother] Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Albert Frederick Hohenzollern Duke Prussia [aged 53] and [his grandmother] Marie Eleonore de la Marck [aged 56]. He the son of Christian Wettin I Elector Saxony and Sophie of Brandenburg [aged 38]. They were second cousin once removed.
On 31st May 1613 John George Wettin Elector Saxony was born to John George Elector Saxony [aged 28] and Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia [aged 26].
On 20th June 1647 [his son] John George Wettin III Elector Saxony was born to John George Wettin Elector Saxony [aged 34]. He married 9th October 1666 his third cousin once removed Anna Sophie Oldenburg, daughter of Frederick III King of Denmark and Sophie Amalie Hanover Queen Consort Denmark, and had issue.
On 8th October 1656 [his father] John George Elector Saxony [aged 71] died. His son John [aged 43] succeeded Elector Saxony.
On 22nd February 1659 [his mother] Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia [aged 72] died.
On 9th October 1666 John George Wettin III Elector Saxony [aged 19] and Anna Sophie Oldenburg [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of Frederick III King of Denmark [aged 57] and Sophie Amalie Hanover Queen Consort Denmark [aged 38]. He the son of John George Wettin Elector Saxony [aged 53]. They were third cousin once removed.
In 1668 John George Wettin Elector Saxony [aged 54] was appointed 470th Knight of the Garter by King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland [aged 37].
Samuel Pepys' Diary. 19th June 1668. At noon home to dinner, and thence by coach to White Hall, where we attended the Duke of York [aged 34] in his closet, upon our usual business. And thence out, and did see many of the Knights of the Garter, with the King [aged 38] and Duke of York, going into the Privychamber, to elect the Elector of Saxony [aged 55] into that Order, who, I did hear the Duke of York say, was a good drinker: I know not upon what score this compliment is done him.
