Before 29th March 1674 [his father] Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel [aged 19] and [his mother] Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel [aged 20] were married. She by marriage Landgravine Hesse Kassel. He the son of [his grandfather] Wilhelm "The Just" VI Hesse-Kassel and [his grandmother] Hedwig Sophia Hohenzollern [aged 50]. They were first cousins.

On 28th April 1676 Frederick I King Sweden was born to Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel [aged 21] and Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel [aged 22]. Coefficient of inbreeding 7.10%.

In 1700 Frederick I King Sweden [aged 23] and Louise Dorothea Hohenzollern [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of Frederick I King Prussia [aged 42] and Elisabeth Henriëtte Hesse-Kassel. He the son of Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel [aged 45] and Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel [aged 46]. They were first cousins.

On 2nd January 1704 [his brother-in-law] Frederick William I Duke Mecklenburg-Schwerin [aged 28] and [his sister] Sophie Charlotte Hesse-Kassel Duchess Mecklenburg-Schwerin [aged 25] were married. She by marriage Duchess Mecklenburg Schwerin. She the daughter of [his father] Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel [aged 49] and [his mother] Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel [aged 50]. They were fourth cousins.

On 23rd December 1705 [his wife] Louise Dorothea Hohenzollern [aged 25] died in childbirth.

On 16th June 1711 [his mother] Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel [aged 58] died.

In 1715 Frederick I King Sweden [aged 38] and Ulrika Eleonora Palatinate Zweibrücken Queen Consort Sweden [aged 26] were married. She the daughter of Charles XI King Sweden and Ulrika Eleonora Oldenburg. He the son of Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel [aged 60] and Maria Amalia of Courland Landgravine Hesse-Kassel. They were third cousin once removed.

On 11th December 1718 [his brother-in-law] Charles XII King of Sweden [aged 36] was killed whilst in the trenches around Fredriksten which his army was besieging. He was struck in the head by a projectile and killed. The shot struck the left side of his skull and exited from the right. It isn't clear who fired the shot. His sister [his wife] Ulrika [aged 30] succeeded Queen Sweden. She effectively usurped her nephew Charles Frederick Duke of Holstein Gottorp [aged 18] whose parents were both dead.

On 29th February 1720 [his wife] Ulrika Eleonora Palatinate Zweibrücken Queen Consort Sweden [aged 32] abdicated King Sweden. On 24th March 1720 her husband Frederick I King Sweden [aged 43] was appointed I King Sweden.

On 23rd March 1730 [his father] Charles I Landgrave Hesse-Kassel [aged 75] died.

On 24th November 1741 [his wife] Ulrika Eleonora Palatinate Zweibrücken Queen Consort Sweden [aged 53] died.

On 30th May 1749 [his sister] Sophie Charlotte Hesse-Kassel Duchess Mecklenburg-Schwerin [aged 70] died.

On 5th April 1751 Frederick I King Sweden [aged 74] died. His third cousin once removed Adolph [aged 40] succeeded King Sweden. He the first king of the House of Holstein-Gottorp.
