On 15th October 1711 Elisabeth Therese Lorraine Queen Consort Sardinia was born to Leopold Duke of Lorraine [aged 32] and Élisabeth Charlotte Bourbon Duchess Lorraine [aged 35]. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.
Before 1723 [her future husband] Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia [aged 21] and Anne Christine Wittelsbach [aged 18] were married. He the son of Victor Amadeus King Sardinia [aged 56] and [her aunt] Anne Marie Bourbon Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 53].
On 23rd July 1724 [her future husband] Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia [aged 23] and Polyxena Hesse Rotenburg Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 17] were married. She by marriage Queen Consort Sardinia. He the son of Victor Amadeus King Sardinia [aged 58] and [her aunt] Anne Marie Bourbon Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 54].
On 27th March 1729 [her father] Leopold Duke of Lorraine [aged 49] died.
On 31st October 1732 Victor Amadeus King Sardinia [aged 66] died. His son [her future husband] Charles [aged 31] succeeded Duke Savoy, III King Sardinia. His grandson [her future step-son] Victor [aged 6] succeeded III King Sardinia.
On 14th February 1736 [her brother] Francis I Holy Roman Emperor [aged 27] and [her sister-in-law] Maria Theresa Habsburg Spain Holy Roman Empress [aged 18] were married. She the daughter of Charles Habsburg Spain VI Holy Roman Emperor [aged 50] and Elisabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel Holy Roman Empress [aged 44]. He the son of [her father] Leopold Duke of Lorraine and [her mother] Élisabeth Charlotte Bourbon Duchess Lorraine [aged 59]. They were third cousins. He a great x 3 grandson of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.
On 5th March 1737 Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia [aged 35] and Elisabeth Therese Lorraine Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 25] were married. She by marriage Queen Consort Sardinia. She the daughter of Leopold Duke of Lorraine and Élisabeth Charlotte Bourbon Duchess Lorraine [aged 60]. He the son of Victor Amadeus King Sardinia and Anne Marie Bourbon Queen Consort Sardinia. They were half first cousins. He a great grandson of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.
In 1738 [her son] Carlo Francesco Savoy was born to [her husband] Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia [aged 36] and Elisabeth Therese Lorraine Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 26]. He a great x 2 grandson of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland. Coefficient of inbreeding 4.84%. He died aged seven in 1745.
This is a translation of the 'Memoires of Jacques du Clercq', published in 1823 in two volumes, edited by Frederic, Baron de Reissenberg. In his introduction Reissenberg writes: 'Jacques du Clercq tells us that he was born in 1424, and that he was a licentiate in law and a counsellor to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, in the castellany of Douai, Lille, and Orchies. It appears that he established his residence at Arras. In 1446, he married the daughter of Baldwin de la Lacherie, a gentleman who lived in Lille. We read in the fifth book of his Memoirs that his father, also named Jacques du Clercq, had married a lady of the Le Camelin family, from Compiègne. His ancestors, always attached to the counts of Flanders, had constantly served them, whether in their councils or in their armies.' The Memoires cover a period of nineteen years beginning in in 1448, ending in in 1467. It appears that the author had intended to extend the Memoirs beyond that date; no doubt illness or death prevented him from carrying out this plan. As Reissenberg writes the 'merit of this work lies in the simplicity of its narrative, in its tone of good faith, and in a certain air of frankness which naturally wins the reader’s confidence.' Du Clercq ranges from events of national and international importance, including events of the Wars of the Roses in England, to simple, everyday local events such as marriages, robberies, murders, trials and deaths, including that of his own father in Book 5; one of his last entries.

He a great x 2 grandson of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland. Coefficient of inbreeding 4.84%. He died aged two in 1742.
In 1741 [her son] Benedetto Maria Maurizio Savoy was born to [her husband] Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia [aged 39] and Elisabeth Therese Lorraine Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 29]. He a great x 2 grandson of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland. Coefficient of inbreeding 4.84%. He married his niece Maria Anna Savoy Duchess Chablais, daughter of Victor Amadeus III King Sardinia and Infanta Maria Antonia Spain.
On 3rd July 1741 Elisabeth Therese Lorraine Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 29] died.
On 20th February 1773 [her former husband] Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia [aged 71] died at Turin.
