She the daughter of [her grandfather] Philip "Handsome Fair" King Castile and [her grandmother] Joanna "The Mad" Trastámara Queen Castile [aged 36]. He the son of John King of Denmark Norway and Sweden and Christina Queen Consort Denmark Norway and Sweden [aged 53]. They were third cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In November 1521 Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine was born to Christian II King of Denmark II King Norway [aged 40] and Isabella of Austria Queen Consort Denmark and Norway [aged 20].

In 1523 [her father] Christian II King of Denmark II King Norway [aged 41] Abdicated following pressure from his nobility. His uncle Frederick [aged 51] succeeded I King of Denmark.

On 20th January 1526 [her mother] Isabella of Austria Queen Consort Denmark and Norway [aged 24] died at Ghent [Map].

On 10th March 1538 Philip Hoby [aged 33] arrived in Brussels [Map] with Hans Holbein The Younger [aged 41] having been sent by Thomas Cromwell 1st Earl Essex [aged 53] to procure a portrait of Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 16]. King Henry VIII of England and Ireland [aged 46] received the portrait on 18th March 1538 and was reported to have been pleased.

She has done well in writing to Cromwell [aged 53], who was much gratified by her letter. The French ambassadors have had difficulty in getting an interview with the King [aged 46], and were ill received; on which the Bishop of Tarbes said to the Venetian secretary he would do his best to promote a peace between the Emperor and France. Next day the Bishop received a present of 500 cr. and 150 cr. for a gentleman of his suite; but he has not yet got his passports, which the King will probably not give till he has heard from Spain. On the same day, the 18th, the painter [aged 41] returned with the Duchess' [aged 16] likeness, which has pleased the King much, and put him in much better humour. He has been masking and visiting the Duchess of Suffolk [aged 19], &c. Does not think, however, that he is pleased at the meeting arranged between the Pope, the Emperor, and Francis. Before 1543 Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine [aged 25] and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of Christian II King of Denmark II King Norway [aged 61] and Isabella of Austria Queen Consort Denmark and Norway. He the son of Antoine Lorraine II Duke Lorraine [aged 53] and Renée Bourbon Duchess Lorraine. They were third cousins. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

On 18th February 1543 [her son] Charles "The Great" Lorraine III Duke Lorraine was born to [her husband] Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine [aged 25] and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 21]. He married 1559 his fourth cousin Claude Valois Duchess Lorraine and had issue.

Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke

Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

On 20th April 1544 [her daughter] Renata Lorraine Duchess Bavaria was born to [her husband] Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine [aged 26] and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 22]. She married 22nd February 1568 her second cousin William Wittelsbach V Duke Bavaria, son of Albert V Wittelsbach V Duke Bavaria and Anna Habsburg Spain Duchess Bavaria, and had issue.

On 14th June 1544 [her father-in-law] Antoine Lorraine II Duke Lorraine [aged 55] died. His son [her husband] Francis [aged 26] succeeded I Duke Lorraine. Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 22] by marriage Duchess Lorraine.

In 1545 [her daughter] Dorothea Lorraine was born to [her husband] Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine [aged 27] and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 23].

On 12th June 1545 [her husband] Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine [aged 27] died. His son Charles [aged 2] succeeded III Duke Lorraine.

In 1559 Charles "The Great" Lorraine III Duke Lorraine [aged 15] and Claude Valois Duchess Lorraine [aged 11] were married. She by marriage Duchess Lorraine. She the daughter of King Henry II of France [aged 39] and Catherine Medici Queen Consort France [aged 39]. He the son of Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 37]. They were fourth cousins.

On 25th January 1559 [her father] Christian II King of Denmark II King Norway [aged 77] died.

On 22nd February 1568 [her son-in-law] William Wittelsbach V Duke Bavaria [aged 19] and Renata Lorraine Duchess Bavaria [aged 23] were married at Munich. She by marriage Duchess Bavaria. She the daughter of Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 46]. He the son of Albert V Wittelsbach V Duke Bavaria [aged 39] and Anna Habsburg Spain Duchess Bavaria [aged 39]. They were second cousins.

On 10th December 1590 Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 69] died.
