On 11th July 1661 [his father] Kildare Digby 2nd Baron Digby [aged 30] died. His son [his brother] Robert [aged 7] succeeded 3rd Baron Digby of Geashill in County Offaly.
On 29th December 1677 Robert Digby 3rd Baron Digby [aged 23] died. His brother Simon [aged 20] succeeded 4th Baron Digby of Geashill in County Offaly. Frances Noel Baroness Digby [aged 16] by marriage Baroness Digby of Geashill in County Offaly.
On 27th August 1683 [his brother] Simon Digby 4th Baron Digby [aged 26] and [his sister-in-law] Frances Noel Baroness Digby [aged 22] were married. She the daughter of [his future father-in-law] Edward Noel 1st Earl Gainsborough [aged 42] and [his future mother-in-law] Elizabeth Wriothesley Countess Gainsborough [aged 37]. They were fifth cousins.
On 19th January 1685 Simon Digby 4th Baron Digby [aged 28] died. He was buried at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Coleshill [Map]. His brother William [aged 23] succeeded 5th Baron Digby of Geashill in County Offaly.
In 1686 William Digby 5th Baron Digby [aged 24] and Jane Noel Baroness Digby were married. She by marriage Baroness Digby of Geashill in County Offaly. She the daughter of Edward Noel 1st Earl Gainsborough [aged 45] and Elizabeth Wriothesley Countess Gainsborough [aged 40]. They were fifth cousins.
Around 1687 [his son] John Digby was born to William Digby 5th Baron Digby [aged 25] and [his wife] Jane Noel Baroness Digby.
In 1689 William Digby 5th Baron Digby [aged 27] was elected MP Warwick.

William of Worcester's Chronicle of England
William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

Before 10th May 1697 [his son] Wriothesley Digby was born to William Digby 5th Baron Digby [aged 36] and [his wife] Jane Noel Baroness Digby. He married 1747 his fifth cousin once removed Mary Cotes and had issue.
On 18th September 1698 William Digby 5th Baron Digby [aged 37] inherited Sherborne Castle [Map].
