Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey 1802-1894

On 18th November 1794 [his father] Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey [aged 30] and [his mother] Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey [aged 18] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William Ponsonby 1st Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly in County Cork [aged 50] and [his grandmother] Louisa Molesworth Countess Fitzwilliam [aged 45]. He the son of Charles Grey 1st Earl Grey [aged 65] and Elizabeth Grey Countess Grey [aged 50].

On 28th December 1802 Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey was born to Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey [aged 38] and Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey [aged 26].

On 14th November 1807 [his grandfather] Charles Grey 1st Earl Grey [aged 78] died. His son [his father] Charles [aged 43] succeeded 2nd Earl Grey, 2nd Viscount Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 2nd Baron Grey of Howick in Northumberland. [his mother] Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey [aged 31] by marriage Countess Grey.

In 1808 Henry Grey 2nd Baronet [aged 86] died. His nephew [his father] Charles [aged 43] succeeded 3rd Baronet Grey of Howick in Northumberland.

On 9th December 1816 [his brother-in-law] John "Radical Jack" Lambton 1st Earl Durham [aged 24] and [his sister] Louisa Elizabeth Grey Countess Durham [aged 19] were married at Howick Hall, Northumberland [Map]. She the daughter of [his father] Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey [aged 52] and [his mother] Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey [aged 40].

On 9th August 1832 Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey [aged 29] and Maria Copley 3rd Countess Grey [aged 33] were married. She the daughter of Joseph Copley 3rd Baronet [aged 63] and Cecil Hamilton Marchioness Abercorn. He the son of Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey [aged 68] and Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey [aged 56].

In 1833 [his brother-in-law] John "Radical Jack" Lambton 1st Earl Durham [aged 40] was created 1st Earl Durham. [his sister] Louisa Elizabeth Grey Countess Durham [aged 35] by marriage Countess Durham.

On 26th November 1841 [his sister] Louisa Elizabeth Grey Countess Durham [aged 44] died.

On 17th July 1845 [his father] Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey [aged 81] died. His son Henry [aged 42] succeeded 3rd Earl Grey, 3rd Viscount Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 3rd Baron Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 4th Baronet Grey of Howick in Northumberland. [his wife] Maria Copley 3rd Countess Grey [aged 46] by marriage Countess Grey.

On 26th November 1861 [his mother] Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey [aged 85] died.

After 10th June 1863 Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey [aged 60] was appointed 737th Knight of the Garter by Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom [aged 44].

After 14th September 1879 [his former wife] Maria Copley 3rd Countess Grey [deceased] died.

After 12th January 1887. St Mary's Church, Sprotbrough [Map]. Memorial to [his former sister-in-law] Elizabeth Mary Copley [deceased] placed by her brother-in-law Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey [aged 84], husband of her late sister [his former wife] Maria Copley 3rd Countess Grey.

Elizabeth Mary Copley: On 11th April 1800 she was born to Joseph Copley 3rd Baronet and Cecil Hamilton Marchioness Abercorn. On 12th January 1887 Elizabeth Mary Copley died unmarried.

Maria Copley 3rd Countess Grey: In May 1799 she was born to Joseph Copley 3rd Baronet and Cecil Hamilton Marchioness Abercorn. On 9th August 1832 Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey and she were married. She the daughter of Joseph Copley 3rd Baronet and Cecil Hamilton Marchioness Abercorn. He the son of Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey and Mary Elizabeth Ponsonby Countess Grey. On 17th July 1845 Charles Grey 2nd Earl Grey died. His son Henry succeeded 3rd Earl Grey, 3rd Viscount Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 3rd Baron Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 4th Baronet Grey of Howick in Northumberland. She by marriage Countess Grey. After 14th September 1879 Maria Copley 3rd Countess Grey died.

On 9th October 1894 Henry George Grey 3rd Earl Grey [aged 91] died. His nephew Albert [aged 42] succeeded 4th Earl Grey, 4th Viscount Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 4th Baron Grey of Howick in Northumberland, 5th Baronet Grey of Howick in Northumberland.
