Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk 1689-1767

On 9th July 1684 Henry Hobart 4th Baronet [aged 27] and [her mother] Elizabeth Maynard Lady Hobart were married. She by marriage Lady Hobart of Intwood in Norfolk.

In 1689 Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk was born to Henry Hobart 4th Baronet [aged 32] and Elizabeth Maynard Lady Hobart.

On 20th August 1698 Henry Hobart 4th Baronet [aged 41] died from wounds he had received in a duel with Oliver le Neve [aged 36] at Cawston Heath, Norfolk. His son John [aged 4] succeeded 5th Baronet Hobart of Intwood in Norfolk.

In 1701 Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 12] became a ward of Henry Howard 5th Earl Suffolk [aged 73].

On 2nd March 1706 Charles Howard 9th Earl Suffolk [aged 31] and Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 17] were married at St Benet's Church, Paul's Wharf [Map]. He the son of Henry Howard 5th Earl Suffolk [aged 78] and Mary Stewart.

On 1st January 1707 [her son] Henry Howard 10th Earl Suffolk was born to [her husband] Charles Howard 9th Earl Suffolk [aged 32] and Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 18]. He married 13th May 1735 Sarah Inwen Countess Suffolk.

On 10th December 1709 Henry Howard 5th Earl Suffolk [aged 82] died. His son Henry [aged 39] succeeded 6th Earl Suffolk. Henrietta Somerset Countess Suffolk [aged 40] by marriage Countess Suffolk.

In 1714 Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 25] travelled to Hanover, hoping to ingratiate themselves with the future George I of Great Britain. She became the mistress of his son King George II of Great Britain and Ireland [aged 30].

In 1717 John Hobart 1st Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 23] and [her sister-in-law] Judith Britiffe were married. She by marriage Lady Hobart of Intwood in Norfolk.

On 19th September 1718 Henry Howard 6th Earl Suffolk [aged 48] died. He was buried at Waldon Priory and Abbey [Map]. His son Charles [aged 25] succeeded 7th Earl Suffolk.

On 8th May 1722 Charles William Howard 7th Earl Suffolk [aged 28] died. He was buried at Waldon Priory and Abbey [Map]. His uncle Edward [aged 50] succeeded 8th Earl Suffolk.

On 11th October 1727 John Hobart 1st Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 34] was created 1st Baron Hobart at Westminster Abbey [Map] during the Coronation of George II.

On 10th February 1728 John Hobart 1st Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 34] and [her sister-in-law] Elizabeth Bristow Countess Buckinghamshire were married. She by marriage Lady Hobart of Intwood in Norfolk.

On 22nd June 1731 [her brother-in-law] Edward Howard 8th Earl Suffolk [aged 59] died. His brother Charles [aged 56] succeeded 9th Earl Suffolk. Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 42] by marriage Countess Suffolk.

On 28th September 1733 [her husband] Charles Howard 9th Earl Suffolk [aged 58] died. He was buried at Waldon Priory and Abbey [Map]. His son Henry [aged 26] succeeded 10th Earl Suffolk.

Around 1734 Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 45] was provided with a significant financial settlement for having provided services as his mistress. She purchased land on the banks of the River Thames and commissioned the architect Roger Morris to construct Marble Hill House, Twickenham [Map].

On 13th May 1735 Henry Howard 10th Earl Suffolk [aged 28] and Sarah Inwen Countess Suffolk were married. She by marriage Countess Suffolk. He the son of Charles Howard 9th Earl Suffolk and Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 46].

On 17th August 1736 [her brother-in-law] James Berkeley 3rd Earl Berkeley [aged 57] died. His son Augustus [aged 21] succeeded 4th Earl Berkeley, 4th Viscount Dursley, 12th Baron Berkeley.

On 22nd April 1745 [her son] Henry Howard 10th Earl Suffolk [aged 38] died. His third cousin Henry [aged 59] succeeded 11th Earl Suffolk. Catherine Graham Countess Berkshire and Suffolk by marriage Countess Suffolk

In 1746 John Hobart 1st Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 52] was created 1st Earl Buckinghamshire. [her sister-in-law] Elizabeth Bristow Countess Buckinghamshire by marriage Countess Buckinghamshire.

In 1746 [her husband] George Berkeley [aged 65] died.

On 22nd September 1756 John Hobart 1st Earl Buckinghamshire [aged 62] died. His son John [aged 33] succeeded 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire, 2nd Baron Hobart, 6th Baronet Hobart of Intwood in Norfolk. Mary Anne Drury Countess Buckinghamshire [aged 16] by marriage Countess Buckinghamshire.

On 26th July 1767 Henrietta Hobart Countess Suffolk [aged 78] died.
