In an undefended suit in the Divorce Court on Monday Mr. Justice Hodson granted a decree nisi, with custody of the child of the marriage, and costs to Mrs. Barbara Champion de Crespigny, living at River Terrace, Henley-on-Thames, who charged her husband, Mr. Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny, with adultery. The marriage was at the Register Office, St. Martin’s, London, in 1930. Mrs. Champion de Crespigny's case was that trouble arose because of her husband’s conduct, and, as he could not maintain her, she secured employment as manageress of some service flats. The respondent left her in December last year, and in March he sent her a letter enclosing a hotel bill. Mrs. Champion de Crespigny now alleged that her husband had stayed with another woman at a London hotel. Evidence in support of the petition was given by Mrs. Champion de Crespigny and servants from the hotel.
