On 7th October 1826 [her father] Edward John Stanley 2nd Baron Stanley and 1st Baron Eddisbury [aged 23] and [her mother] Henrietta Maria Dillon Baroness Stanley Alderley and Eddisbury [aged 18] were married.

On 23rd October 1850 [her grandfather] John Stanley 1st Baron Stanley Alderley [aged 83] died. His succeeded son [her father] Edward [aged 47] succeeded 2nd Baron Stanley Alderley, 8th Baronet Stanley of Alderley in Cheshire. [her mother] Henrietta Maria Dillon Baroness Stanley Alderley and Eddisbury [aged 42] by marriage Baroness Stanley Alderley.

In 1862 [her brother] Henry Edward Stanley 3rd Baron Stanley 2nd Baron Eddisbury [aged 34] and [her sister-in-law] Fabia San Roman of Seville were married. The first of three ceremonies of which the first two transpired to be bigamous.

In 1864 [her brother-in-law] George Howard 9th Earl Carlisle [aged 20] and [her sister] Rosalind Frances Stanley Countess Carlisle [aged 18] were married.

On 16th June 1869 [her father] Edward John Stanley 2nd Baron Stanley and 1st Baron Eddisbury [aged 66] died. His succeeded son [her brother] Henry [aged 41] succeeded 3rd Baron Stanley Alderley, 2nd Baron Eddisbury of Winnington in Cheshire, 9th Baronet Stanley of Alderley in Cheshire.

On 6th February 1873 [her brother] Edward Lyulph Stanley 4th Baron Stanley 3rd Baron Eddisbury [aged 33] and [her sister-in-law] Mary Catherine Bell Baroness Stanley were married.

In 1880 Mauda Alethea Stanley [aged 46] established the Girls Club Union which became London Youth.

In 1884 Mauda Alethea Stanley [aged 50] became manager of the Metropolitan Asylums Board

The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy

The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. Originally penned in Latin by the monk William of Jumièges shortly before 1060 and later expanded at the behest of William the Conqueror, the work chronicles the deeds, politics, battles, and leadership of the Norman dukes, especially William’s own claim to the English throne. The narrative combines earlier historical sources with firsthand information and oral testimony to present an authoritative account of Normandy’s transformation from a Viking settlement into one of medieval Europe’s most powerful realms. William’s history emphasizes the legitimacy, military prowess, and governance of the Norman line, framing their expansion, including the conquest of England, as both divinely sanctioned and noble in purpose. Later chroniclers such as Orderic Vitalis and Robert of Torigni continued the history, extending the coverage into the 12th century, providing broader context on ducal rule and its impact. Today this classic work remains a foundational source for understanding Norman identity, medieval statesmanship, and the historical forces that reshaped England and Western Europe between 800AD and 1100AD.

On 29th March 1889 William George Howard 8th Earl Carlisle [aged 81] died unmarried. His succeeded nephew [her brother-in-law] George [aged 45] succeeded 9th Earl Carlisle. [her sister] Rosalind Frances Stanley Countess Carlisle [aged 44] by marriage Countess Carlisle.

In 1890 Mauda Alethea Stanley [aged 56] wrote Clubs for Working Girls, the first text about young women's clubs, and took a lifelong interest in the welfare of working teenage girls.

In 1892 Mauda Alethea Stanley [aged 58] became governor of the Borough Polytechnic.

Before 1895 Mauda Alethea Stanley [aged 61] lived with her mother Henrietta Maria Dillon Baroness Stanley Alderley and Eddisbury [aged 87] until her death in 1895.

On 16th February 1895 [her mother] Henrietta Maria Dillon Baroness Stanley Alderley and Eddisbury [aged 87] died.

On 10th December 1903 Henry Edward Stanley 3rd Baron Stanley 2nd Baron Eddisbury [aged 76] died. He was buried according to Muslim rites in unconsecrated ground in the garden of the Dower House on his family's estate, Alderley Park, Cheshire [Map]. His succeeded brother Edward [aged 64] succeeded 4th Baron Stanley Alderley, 3rd Baron Eddisbury of Winnington in Cheshire, 10th Baronet Stanley of Alderley in Cheshire.

On 21st April 1909 Henry Holroyd 3rd Earl Sheffield [aged 77] died unmarried. Earl Sheffield of Dunamore in Meath, Viscount Pevensey, Baron Sheffield of Dunamore in Meath and Baron Sheffield of Sheffield in Yorkshire extinct. His succeeded half first cousin once removed [her brother] Edward [aged 69] succeeded 4th Baron Sheffield of Roscommon in Roscommon.

Robert Stodart Lorimer: On 4th November 1864 he was born to James Lorimer and Hannah Stodart in Edinburgh. On 13th September 1929 he died.

On 14th July 1915 Mauda Alethea Stanley [aged 82] died at Alderley Park, Cheshire [Map] of a heart condition. Her funeral was held on 16th July 1915. A memorial service was subsequently held at St John's Church to which Queen Mary [aged 48] and Queen Alexandra [aged 70] sent representatives. Queen Alexandra's wreath was inscribed with: "In memory of dear Miss Stanley and all her many good works. From her devoted Alexandra".
