On 5th June 1790 Margaretta Burgh 1st Viscountess Ferrard [aged 53] was created 1st Baroness Oriel. The title was created in honour of her husband, but in such a way that would enable him to continue to serve as Speaker of the Irish House of Commons.
On 20th January 1824 Margaretta Burgh 1st Viscountess Ferrard [aged 87] died. Her son Thomas [aged 52] succeeded 2nd Viscount Ferrard, 2nd Baron Oriel.
On 18th January 1843 Thomas Henry Foster aka Skeffington 2nd Viscount Ferrard [aged 71] died. His son John [aged 30] succeeded 3rd Viscount Ferrard, 3rd Baron Oriel, 3rd Baron Oriel of Ferrand in Louth.
On 28th April 1863 John Skeffington 10th Viscount Massereene, 3rd Viscount Ferrard [aged 50] died. His son Clotworthy [aged 20] succeeded 11th Viscount Massereene, 4th Viscount Ferrard, 10th Baron Lough Neagh, 4th Baron Oriel, 4th Baron Oriel of Ferrand in Louth.
On 26th June 1905 Clotworthy Skeffington 11th Viscount Massereene, 5th Viscount Ferrard [aged 62] died. His son Algernon [aged 31] succeeded 12th Viscount Massereene, 5th Viscount Ferrard, 11th Baron Lough Neagh, 5th Baron Oriel, 5th Baron Oriel of Ferrand in Louth.
On 20th July 1956 Algernon Skeffington 12th Viscount Massereene, 5th Viscount Ferrard [aged 82] died. His son John [aged 41] succeeded 13th Viscount Massereene, 6th Viscount Ferrard, 12th Baron Lough Neagh, 6th Baron Oriel, 6th Baron Oriel of Ferrand in Louth.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.
