On 26th December 1729 Edward Astley 4th Baronet was born to Jacob Astley 3rd Baronet [aged 37] and Lucy L'Estrange [aged 30]. Coefficient of inbreeding 1.56%.

On 7th July 1739 [his grandfather] Philip Astley 2nd Baronet [aged 71] died. His succeeded son [his father] Jacob Astley 3rd Baronet [aged 47] succeeded 3rd Baronet Astley of Hill Morton.
On 23rd May 1751 Edward Astley 4th Baronet [aged 21] and Rhoda Delaval [aged 25] were married.
Around 1755 [his son] Edward Astley was born to Edward Astley 4th Baronet [aged 25] and [his wife] Rhoda Delaval [aged 29]. [his daughter] Editha Rhoda Astley died before 12th May 1755 when she was buried at St Matthew's Church Widcombe. Given the close of the dates he may have been a twin. Before 1757 Edward Astley died.
On 14th April 1755 [his daughter] Editha Rhoda Astley was born to Edward Astley 4th Baronet [aged 25] and [his wife] Rhoda Delaval [aged 29]. Editha Rhoda Astley died before 12th May 1755 when she was buried at St Matthew's Church Widcombe.
On 12th September 1756 [his son] Jacob Astley 5th Baronet was born to Edward Astley 4th Baronet [aged 26] and [his wife] Rhoda Delaval [aged 31]. He married 14th January 1789 Hester Browne Lady Astley and had issue.
Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke
Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.
