Biography of Godfrey Namur I Count Namur 1068-1139

She the daughter of [his grandfather] Bernard II Duke of Saxony and [his grandmother] Eilika Schweinfurt Duchess Saxony. He the son of [his grandfather] Albert Namur II Count Namur and [his grandmother] Regilinda Ardennes Countess Namur. They were second cousin once removed.

In 1068 Godfrey Namur I Count Namur was born to [his father] Albert Namur III Count Namur (age 41) and [his mother] Ida Billung Countess Namur.

In 1087 Godfrey Namur I Count Namur (age 19) and Sibylle Chateau Porcéan Countess Namur were married. She by marriage Countess Namur. She the daughter of Roger Chateau Porcéan Count Château Porcéan. He the son of Albert Namur III Count Namur (age 60) and Ida Billung Countess Namur.

In 1121 [his brother] Frederick Namur Bishop Liège died.

In 1122 [his brother] Albert Namur I Count Jaffa died.

Around 1127 [his son] Albert Namur died.

In or before 1130 [his son-in-law] Guitier Count Rethel and [his daughter] Beatrix Namur were married. She the daughter of Godfrey Namur I Count Namur (age 61) and [his wife] Ermesinde Luxemburg Countess Namur (age 49).

In 1138 [his brother] Henry Namur I Count Roche (age 68) died.

In 1139 Godfrey Namur I Count Namur (age 71) died. His son Henry (age 27) succeeded I Count Namur.

On 24th June 1183 [his former wife] Ermesinde Luxemburg Countess Namur died.

She married her half third cousin twice removed Baldwin Flanders IV Count Hainault, son of Baldwin Flanders III Count Hainault and Yolande Guelders Countess Hainault, and had issue.
