On 21st May 1662 [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 31) and [her step-mother] Catherine of Braganza Queen Consort England (age 23) were married at Portsmouth, Hampshire [Map]. She by marriage Queen Consort England. She the daughter of John IV King Portugal and Luisa de Guzman Queen Consort Portugal (age 48). He the son of [her grandfather] King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland and [her grandmother] Henrietta Maria Bourbon Queen Consort England (age 52).

On 16th October 1673 Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater was born to [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 43) and [her mother] Mary "Moll" Davis (age 25). He subsequently dismissed her with a pension of an annual pension of £1000.

In 1674 [her future brother-in-law] Edward Lee 1st Earl Lichfield (age 10) was created 1st Earl Lichfield as a consequence of his being betrothed to [her illegitimate half-sister] Charlotte Fitzroy Countess Lichfield (age 9), a natural daughter of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 43).

On 16th May 1674 [her brother-in-law] Thomas Lennard 1st Earl of Sussex (age 20) and [her illegitimate half-sister] Anne Fitzroy Countess Sussex (age 13) were married at Hampton Court Palace, Richmond [Map]. She the illegitmate daughter of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 43) and Barbara Villiers 1st Duchess of Cleveland (age 33). They were first cousin once removed.

On 1st October 1674 [her illegitimate half-brother] George Fitzroy 1st Duke Northumberland (age 8) was created 1st Earl of Northumberland, 1st Viscount Falmouth, 1st Baron Pontefract by [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 44).

On 5th October 1674 [her brother-in-law] Thomas Lennard 1st Earl of Sussex (age 20) was created 1st Earl of Sussex. [her illegitimate half-sister] Anne Fitzroy Countess Sussex (age 13) by marriage Countess of Sussex.

John Evelyn's Diary. 15th December 1674. Saw a comedy at night, at Court, acted by the ladies only, among them Lady Mary (age 1) and [her illegitimate half-sister] Ann (age 13), his [her father] Royal Highness' (age 44) two daughters, and my dear friend Mrs. Blagg (age 22), who, having the principal part, performed it to admiration. They were all covered with jewels.

The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Siege of Tangier

On 17th October 1680 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles "Don Carlo" Fitzcharles 1st Earl Plymouth (age 23) died of dysentery at Tangier [Map] during the Siege of Tangier. Earl Plymouth, Viscount Totnes and Baron Dartmouth extinct.

On 10th December 1680 Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 7) was granted by Royal warrant the surname Tudor and the precedence of the daughter of an Earl.

In 1681 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles Lennox 1st Duke Richmond (age 8) was appointed 485th Knight of the Garter by [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 50).

On 17th November 1681 Jean Chardin (age 38) was knighted at Whitehall Palace [Map] by [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 51). The same day Jean Chardin and Esther Lardinière Peigné were married.

Before 1682 Dr Henry Dove was appointed Chaplain to [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 51).

The Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough, a canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. On 10th January 1684 [her illegitimate half-brother] George Fitzroy 1st Duke Northumberland (age 18) was appointed 489th Knight of the Garter by [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 53).

On 21st February 1684 Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 10) was granted the precedence of the daughter of a Duke.

Death and Burial of Charles II

On 6th February 1685 [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 54) died at 1145 in the morning at Whitehall Palace [Map] attended by Charles Scarburgh (age 69). His brother [her uncle] James (age 51) succeeded II King England Scotland and Ireland. Duke York merged with the Crown. Mary of Modena Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland (age 26) by marriage Queen Consort England Scotland and Ireland. His brother King James II of England Scotland and Ireland, William Chiffinch (age 83), Richard Mason (age 52) and Archbishop William Sancroft (age 68) were present.

Execution of the Duke of Monmouth

On 15th July 1685 [her illegitimate half-brother] James Scott 1st Duke Monmouth 1st Duke Buccleuch (age 36) was beheaded at Tower Hill [Map]. Duke Monmouth and Duke Buccleuch forfeit. Bishop Francis Turner (age 47) acted a Chaplain.

In 1686 John Talbot (age 21) was killed in a duel by [her illegitimate half-brother] Henry Fitzroy 1st Duke Grafton (age 22).

In March 1686 [her illegitimate half-brother] George Fitzroy 1st Duke Northumberland (age 20) and [her sister-in-law] Catherine Wheatley were married. Soon after the marriage Northumberland and his brother, [her illegitimate half-brother] Henry FitzRoy, 1st Duke of Grafton (age 22), allegedly attempted to privately convey her abroad to an English convent in Ghent [Map], Belgium. He the illegitmate son of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland and Barbara Villiers 1st Duchess of Cleveland (age 45).

On 18th August 1687 Edward Radclyffe 2nd Earl Derwentwater (age 32) and Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 13) were married. She the daughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland and Mary "Moll" Davis (age 39). He the son of Francis Radclyffe 1st Earl Derwentwater (age 62).

On 28th June 1689 [her son] James Radclyffe 3rd Earl Derwentwater was born to [her husband] Edward Radclyffe 2nd Earl Derwentwater (age 34) and Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 15). He a grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. He married 10th July 1712 his fourth cousin once removed Anna Maria Webb Countess Derwentwater, daughter of John Webb 3rd Baronet and Barbara Belasyse Lady Webb, and had issue.

Storming of Cork

On 9th October 1690 [her illegitimate half-brother] Henry Fitzroy 1st Duke Grafton (age 27) was killed at Cork [Map] during the Storming of Cork. His son [her illegitimate nephew] Charles (age 6) succeeded 2nd Duke Grafton, 2nd Earl Euston, 2nd Viscount Ipswich, 2nd Baron Sudbury.

On 8th January 1692 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles Lennox 1st Duke Richmond (age 19) and [her sister-in-law] Anne Brudenell Duchess Richmond (age 21) were married. She by marriage Duchess Richmond. He the illegitmate son of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland and Louise Kéroualle 1st Duchess Portsmouth (age 42).

On 3rd September 1693 [her son] Charles Radclyffe Earl Newburgh was born to [her husband] Edward Radclyffe 2nd Earl Derwentwater (age 38) and Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 19). He a grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. He married 4th June 1724 his third cousin once removed Charlotte Livingstone 3rd Countess Newburgh, daughter of Charles Livingston 2nd Earl of Newburgh and Frances Brudenell Countess Newburgh, and had issue.

In 1694 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles Fitzroy 1st Duke Southampton 2nd Duke Cleveland (age 31) and [her sister-in-law] Anne Pulteney Duchess Southampton Duchess of Cleveland (age 30) were married. She by marriage Duchess Southampton. He the illegitmate son of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland and Barbara Villiers 1st Duchess of Cleveland (age 53).

On 17th April 1694 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles Beauclerk 1st Duke St Albans (age 23) and [her sister-in-law] Diana Vere Duchess St Albans (age 15) were married. She by marriage Duchess St Albans. She the daughter of Aubrey de Vere 20th Earl of Oxford (age 67) and Diana Kirke Countess of Oxford. He the illegitmate son of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland and Nell Gwyn.

In April 1697 [her father-in-law] Francis Radclyffe 1st Earl Derwentwater (age 72) died. His son [her husband] Edward (age 42) succeeded 2nd Earl Derwentwater, 4th Baronet Radclyffe of Derwentwater in Cumberland.

On 29th April 1705 [her husband] Edward Radclyffe 2nd Earl Derwentwater (age 50) died. His son [her son] James (age 15) succeeded 3rd Earl Derwentwater, 5th Baronet Radclyffe of Derwentwater in Cumberland.

Death of Catherine of Braganza Dowager Queen Consort

On 31st December 1705 [her step-mother] Catherine of Braganza Queen Consort England (age 67) died at the Bemposta Palace some twenty years after the death of her husband [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. She was buried at Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.

In 1708 [her mother] Mary "Moll" Davis (age 60) died.

On 9th October 1709 Barbara Villiers 1st Duchess of Cleveland (age 68) died at Chiswick Mall. Her son [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles (age 47) succeeded 2nd Duke Cleveland, 2nd Earl of Southampton and 2nd Baron Nonsuch. [her sister-in-law] Anne Pulteney Duchess Southampton Duchess of Cleveland (age 45) by marriage Duchess Cleveland.

She by marriage Countess Derwentwater. He the son of [her former husband] Edward Radclyffe 2nd Earl Derwentwater and Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 38). They were fourth cousin once removed. He a grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

1715 Battle of Preston

The 1715 Battle of Preston was the final action of the 1715 Jacobite Rebellion. It commenced on 9th November 1715 when Jacobite cavalry entered Preston, Lancashire [Map]. Royalist troops arrived in number over the next few days surrounding Preston forcing the Jacocobite surrender. 1463 were taken prisoner of which 463 were English. The Scottish prisoners included:

George Seton 5th Earl of Winton (age 38). The only prisoner to plead not guilty, sentenced to death, escaped from the Tower of London [Map] on 4th August 1716 around nine in the evening. Travelled to France then to Rome.

On 24th February 1716 William Gordon 6th Viscount Kenmure (age 44) was beheaded on Tower Hill [Map].

On 9th February 1716 William Maxwell 5th Earl Nithsale was sentenced to be executed on 24th February 1716. The night before his wife (age 36) effected his escape from the Tower of London [Map] by exchanging his clothes with those of her maid. They travelled to Paris then to Rome where the court of James "Old Pretender" Stewart (age 27) was.

[her son] James Radclyffe 3rd Earl Derwentwater (age 26) was imprisoned in the Tower of London [Map]. He was examined by the Privy Council on 10th January 1716 and impeached on 19th January 1716. He pleaded guilty in the expectation of clemency. He was attainted and condemned to death. Attempts were made to procure his pardon. His wife [her daughter-in-law] Anna Maria Webb Countess Derwentwater (age 24), her sister Mary Webb (age 21) [Note. Assumed to be her sister Mary], their aunt [her sister-in-law] Anne Brudenell Duchess Richmond (age 45), Barbara Villiers 1st Duchess of Cleveland appealed to King George I (age 55) in person without success.

On 24th February 1716 James Radclyffe 3rd Earl Derwentwater was beheaded on Tower Hill [Map]. Earl Derwentwater, Baronet Radclyffe of Derwentwater in Cumberland forfeit.

William Murray 2nd Lord Nairne was tried on 9th February 1716 for treason, found guilty, attainted, and condemned to death. He survived long enough to benefit from the Indemnity Act of 1717.

General Thomas Forster of Adderstone (age 31) was attainted. He was imprisoned at Newgate Prison, London [Map] but escaped to France.

On 14th May 1716 Henry Oxburgh was hanged, drawn and quartered at Tyburn [Map]. He was buried at Church of St Gile's in the Fields. His head was spiked on Temple Bar.

The trials and sentences were overseen by the Lord High Steward William Cowper 1st Earl Cowper (age 50) for which he subsequently received his Earldom.

On 17th February 1718 [her illegitimate half-sister] Charlotte Fitzroy Countess Lichfield (age 53) died. She a natural daughter of [her father] King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 16th May 1722 [her illegitimate half-sister] Anne Fitzroy Countess Sussex (age 61) died.

On 27th May 1723 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles Lennox 1st Duke Richmond (age 50) died. His son [her illegitimate nephew] Charles (age 22) succeeded 2nd Duke Richmond, 2nd Earl March, 2nd Baron Settrington. Sarah Cadogan Duchess Richmond (age 17) by marriage Duchess Richmond.

On 4th June 1724 [her son] Charles Radclyffe Earl Newburgh (age 30) and [her daughter-in-law] Charlotte Livingstone 3rd Countess Newburgh (age 30) were married. He by marriage Earl of Newburgh. She the daughter of Charles Livingston 2nd Earl of Newburgh and Frances Brudenell Countess Newburgh. He the son of [her former husband] Edward Radclyffe 2nd Earl Derwentwater and Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 50). They were third cousin once removed. He a grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 10th May 1726 [her illegitimate half-brother] Charles Beauclerk 1st Duke St Albans (age 56) died at Bath, Somerset [Map]. He was buried at Westminster Abbey [Map]. His son [her illegitimate nephew] Charles (age 30) succeeded 2nd Duke St Albans, 2nd Earl Burford, 2nd Baron Heddington. Lucy Werden Duchess St Albans (age 27) by marriage Duchess St Albans.

On 15th November 1726 Mary Tudor Countess Derwentwater (age 53) died in Paris [Map].
