He the son of George "Fairy Earl" Fitzgerald 16th Earl of Kildare [aged 42] and Joan Boyle Countess Kildare [aged 44].
In 1661 John Fitzgerald 18th Earl of Kildare was born to Wentworth Fitzgerald 17th Earl of Kildare [aged 27] and Elizabeth Holles Countess Kildare.
