Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes

Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut. On 11th October 1761 [his daughter] Charlotte Maria Waldegrave was born to James Waldegrave 2nd Earl Waldegrave [aged 46] and [his wife] Maria Walpole Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh [aged 25]. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. She married 16th November 1784 her fourth cousin once removed George Henry Fitzroy 4th Duke Grafton, son of Augustus Henry Fitzroy 3rd Duke Grafton and Anne Liddell Duchess Grafton, and had issue.

In 1762 [his daughter] Anne Horatia Waldegrave was born to James Waldegrave 2nd Earl Waldegrave [aged 46] and [his wife] Maria Walpole Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh [aged 25]. In 1766 William Henry Hanover 1st Duke Gloucester and Edinburgh [aged 22] and [his former wife] Maria Walpole Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh [aged 29] were married in secret at Pall Mall [Map]. She by marriage Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh. He the son of Frederick Louis Hanover Prince of Wales and Augusta Saxe Coburg Altenburg [aged 46].

On 22nd August 1807 [his former wife] Maria Walpole Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh [aged 71] died.
