In 1717 [his daughter] Henrietta Waldegrave was born to James Waldegrave 1st Earl Waldegrave [aged 33] and [his wife] Mary Webb [aged 22]. She a great granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. She married 1734 her fourth cousin once removed Edward Herbert, son of William Herbert 2nd Marquess Powis and Mary Preston Marchioness Powis, and had issue.

On 11th April 1741 James Waldegrave 1st Earl Waldegrave [aged 57] died. His son James [aged 26] succeeded 2nd Earl Waldegrave, 3rd Baron Waldegrave Chewton Somerset, 6th Baronet Waldegrave of Hever Castle.
