Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet 1752-1822

In or before 1752 [his father] Henry Englefield 6th Baronet and [his mother] Catherine Buck Lady Englefield were married. She by marriage Lady Englefield of Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire.

In 1752 Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet was born to Henry Englefield 6th Baronet and Catherine Buck Lady Englefield.

In 1778 Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet [aged 26] was elected Fellow of the Royal Society.

In 1779 Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet [aged 27] was elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.

In 1780 [his father] Henry Englefield 6th Baronet died. His son Henry [aged 28] succeeded 7th Baronet Englefield of Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire.

In 1781 Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet [aged 29] joined the Dilettanti Society and acted as its secretary for fourteen years.

In 1782 Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet [aged 30] was elected to the Catholic Committee. In its conflict with the Vicars Apostolic he contributed a pamphlet in answer to Samuel Horsley, an Anglican prelate, later pro-Catholic, before the Catholic Relief Bill of 1791. Englefield took an independent line.

On 21st March 1822 Henry Charles Englefield 7th Baronet [aged 70] died unmarried. Baronet Englefield of Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire extinct.
