John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland 1759-1841

On 26th March 1758 [his father] John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 29] and [his mother] Augusta Bertie [aged 26] were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Thomas Fane 8th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 57] and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Swymmer Countess Westmoreland.

On 1st June 1759 John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland was born to John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 31] and Augusta Bertie [aged 27].

On 4th February 1766 [his mother] Augusta Bertie [aged 34] died.

On 28th May 1767 [his father] John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 39] and [his step-mother] Susan Gordon Countess of Westmoreland [aged 15] were married. The difference in their ages was 23 years. She the daughter of Cosmo George Gordon 3rd Duke Gordon and Catherine Gordon Duchess Gordon [aged 49]. He the son of [his grandfather] Thomas Fane 8th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 66] and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Swymmer Countess Westmoreland.

On 25th November 1771 [his grandfather] Thomas Fane 8th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 70] died. His son [his father] John [aged 43] succeeded 9th Earl of Westmoreland. [his step-mother] Susan Gordon Countess of Westmoreland [aged 19] by marriage Countess of Westmoreland.

[his uncle] Henry Fane of Fulbeck [aged 32] inherited Fulbeck Hall.

On 25th April 1774 [his father] John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 45] died. His son John [aged 14] succeeded 10th Earl of Westmoreland.

On 12th July 1781 [his brother-in-law] William Lowther 1st Earl Lonsdale [aged 23] and [his sister] Augusta Fane Countess Lonsdale [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of [his father] John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland and [his mother] Augusta Bertie.

On 20th May 1782 John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 22] and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 17] were married at Gretna Green. She by marriage Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland and Augusta Bertie.

On 2nd February 1784 [his son] John Fane 11th Earl of Westmoreland was born to John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 24] and [his wife] Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 19]. He married 26th June 1811 Priscilla Anne Wellesley-Pole Countess of Westmoreland, daughter of William Wellesley aka Wellesley-Pole 3rd Earl Mornington and Katherine Forbes Countess Mornington, and had issue.

On 4th March 1785 [his daughter] Sarah Sophia Fane Countess Jersey was born to John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 25] and [his wife] Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 20]. She married 23rd May 1804 George Child-Villiers 5th Earl Jersey, son of George Bussy Villiers 4th Earl Jersey and Frances Twysden, and had issue.

In 1786 [his daughter] Augusta Fane Baroness Boringdon was born to John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 26] and [his wife] Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 21]. She married 1. 1804 her fourth cousin once removed John Parker 1st Earl Morley, son of John Parker 1st Baron Boringdon and Theresa Robinson Baroness Boringdon 2. 1809 Arthur Paget, son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge and Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge, and had issue.

In 1787 [his daughter] Maria Fane was born to John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 27] and [his wife] Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 22]. She married 16th November 1805 John Ponsonby 4th Earl Bessborough, son of Frederick Ponsonby 3rd Earl Bessborough and Henrietta Frances Spencer Countess Bessborough, and had issue.

In 1793 [his daughter] Charlotte Fane was born to John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 33] and [his wife] Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 28].

On 9th November 1793 [his wife] Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland [aged 29] died.

In 1800 John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 40] and Jane Huck Saunders Countess of Westmoreland [aged 17] were married. The difference in their ages was 23 years. He the son of John Fane 9th Earl of Westmoreland and Augusta Bertie.

On 25th January 1801 [his daughter] Georgiana Fane was born to John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 41] and [his wife] Jane Huck Saunders Countess of Westmoreland [aged 18].

On 24th May 1802 James Lowther 1st Earl Lonsdale [aged 65] died. His third cousin once removed [his brother-in-law] William [aged 44] succeeded 2nd Viscount Lowther, 2nd Baron Lowther. [his sister] Augusta Fane Countess Lonsdale [aged 40] by marriage Viscountess Lowther.

In 1804 [his son-in-law] John Parker 1st Earl Morley [aged 31] and Augusta Fane Baroness Boringdon [aged 18] were married. She by marriage Baroness Boringdon. She the daughter of John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 44] and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland. They were fourth cousin once removed.

On 23rd May 1804 [his son-in-law] George Child-Villiers 5th Earl Jersey [aged 30] and Sarah Sophia Fane Countess Jersey [aged 19] were married at Berkeley Square, Mayfair. She the daughter of John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 44] and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of George Bussy Villiers 4th Earl Jersey [aged 68] and Frances Twysden [aged 51].

On 16th November 1805 [his son-in-law] John Ponsonby 4th Earl Bessborough [aged 24] and Maria Fane [aged 18] were married at Berkeley Square, Mayfair. She the daughter of John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 46] and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of Frederick Ponsonby 3rd Earl Bessborough [aged 47] and Henrietta Frances Spencer Countess Bessborough [aged 44].

In 1807 [his brother-in-law] William Lowther 1st Earl Lonsdale [aged 49] was created 1st Earl Lonsdale. [his sister] Augusta Fane Countess Lonsdale [aged 45] by marriage Countess Lonsdale.

In 1809 [his son-in-law] Arthur Paget [aged 37] and Augusta Fane Baroness Boringdon [aged 23] were married. She the daughter of John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 49] and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge [aged 64] and Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge [aged 67].

In 1809 [his son-in-law] John Parker 1st Earl Morley [aged 36] and [his daughter] Augusta Fane Baroness Boringdon [aged 23] were divorced.

On 26th June 1811 John Fane 11th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 27] and Priscilla Anne Wellesley-Pole Countess of Westmoreland [aged 18] were married. She the daughter of William Wellesley aka Wellesley-Pole 3rd Earl Mornington [aged 48] and Katherine Forbes Countess Mornington [aged 50]. He the son of John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 52] and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland.

In 1822 [his daughter] Charlotte Fane [aged 29] died unmarried.

In 1834 [his daughter] Maria Fane [aged 47] died.

On 6th March 1838 [his sister] Augusta Fane Countess Lonsdale [aged 76] died.

On 15th December 1841 John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland [aged 82] died. His son John [aged 57] succeeded 11th Earl of Westmoreland. Priscilla Anne Wellesley-Pole Countess of Westmoreland [aged 48] by marriage Countess of Westmoreland.

On 26th March 1857 [his former wife] Jane Huck Saunders Countess of Westmoreland [aged 74] died at Brympton d'Evercy, Somerset.
