Before 2nd February 1612 Thomas Wentworth 5th Baron Wentworth was born to Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland [aged 21] and Anne Crofts Countess Cleveland. On 2nd February 1612 Thomas Wentworth 5th Baron Wentworth was baptised.

In 1626 [his father] Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland [aged 35] was created 1st Earl Cleveland. [his mother] Anne Crofts Countess Cleveland by marriage Countess Cleveland.

On 16th January 1637 [his mother] Anne Crofts Countess Cleveland died.

After 16th January 1637 [his father] Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland [aged 46] and [his step-mother] Lucy Wentworth Countess Cleveland [aged 26] were married. She by marriage Countess Cleveland. The difference in their ages was 20 years. They were half second cousin once removed.

In November 1640 Thomas Wentworth 5th Baron Wentworth [aged 28] by writ of acceleration 5th Baron Wentworth.

Before 1641 [his brother-in-law] John Lovelace 2nd Baron Lovelace [aged 24] and [his sister] Anne Wentworth 7th Baroness Wentworth Baroness Lovelace [aged 17] were married. She by marriage Baroness Lovelace of Hurley in Berkshire. She the daughter of [his father] Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland [aged 49] and [his mother] Anne Crofts Countess Cleveland.

On 27th October 1644 Maurice Palatinate Simmern [aged 23] fought for the defeated Royalist army at the Second Battle of Newbury at Speen, Newbury [Map]. [his father] Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland [aged 53] was captured. Edward St John [aged 27] was killed.

James Harington 3rd Baronet [aged 36], who had his horse shot from under him, commanded five regiments.

Mountjoy Blount 1st Earl Newport [aged 47] fought for the Royalist Army.

Anthony Mansel of Ischoed was killed fighting for the Royalists.

John Evelyn's Diary. 19th August 1649. I went to salute the French King [aged 10] and the Queen Dowager [aged 47]; and, on the 21st, returned in one of the Queen's coaches with my Lord Germain, Duke of Buckingham [aged 21], Lord Wentworth [aged 37], and Mr. Croftes [aged 38], since Lord Croftes.

John Evelyn's Diary. 1st February 1652. At Calais [Map], I dined with my Lord Wentworth [aged 39], and met with Mr. Heath, Sir Richard Lloyd, Captain Paine, and divers of our banished friends, of whom understanding that the Count de la Strade, Governor of Dunkirk, was in the town, who had bought my wife's [aged 17] picture, taken by pirates at sea the year before (my wife [aged 11] having sent it for me in England), as my Lord of Norwich had informed me at Paris, I made my address to him, who frankly told me that he had such a picture in his own bedchamber among other ladies, and how he came by it; seeming well pleased that it was his fortune to preserve it for me, and he generously promised to send it to any friend I had at Dover; I mentioned a French merchant there and so took my leave.

Around March 1658 Thomas Wentworth 5th Baron Wentworth [aged 46] and Philadelphia Carey Baroness Wentworth were married. She by marriage Baroness Wentworth. She the daughter of Henry Carey 1st Earl Dover [aged 78] and Judith Pelham Countess Dover. He the son of Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland [aged 67] and Anne Crofts Countess Cleveland. They were fifth cousin once removed.

On 11th August 1660 [his daughter] Henrietta Marie Wentworth 6th Baroness Wentworth was born to Thomas Wentworth 5th Baron Wentworth [aged 48] and [his wife] Philadelphia Carey Baroness Wentworth.

John Evelyn's Diary. 4th July 1663. I saw his Majesty's [aged 33] Guards, being of horse and foot 4,000, led by the General, the Duke of Albemarle [aged 54], in extraordinary equipage and gallantry, consisting of gentlemen of quality and veteran soldiers, excellently clad, mounted, and ordered, drawn up in battalia before their Majesties in Hyde Park [Map], where the old [his father] Earl of Cleveland [aged 72] trailed a pike, and led the right-hand file in a foot company, commanded by the Lord Wentworth [aged 51], his son; a worthy spectacle and example, being both of them old and valiant soldiers. This was to show the French Ambassador, Monsieur Comminges; there being a great assembly of coaches, etc., in the park.

On 1st March 1665 Thomas Wentworth 5th Baron Wentworth [aged 53] died. His daughter Henrietta [aged 4] succeeded 6th Baroness Wentworth.
