She the daughter of [his grandfather] James Waldegrave 2nd Earl Waldegrave and [his grandmother] Maria Walpole Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh [aged 48]. He the son of Augustus Henry Fitzroy 3rd Duke Grafton [aged 49] and Anne Liddell Duchess Grafton [aged 47]. They were fourth cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 10th February 1790 Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton was born to George Henry Fitzroy 4th Duke Grafton [aged 30] and Charlotte Maria Waldegrave [aged 28]. He was educated at Harrow School and Trinity College, Cambridge University [Map]. He a great x 3 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 1st February 1808 [his mother] Charlotte Maria Waldegrave [aged 46] died.

On 14th March 1811 [his grandfather] Augustus Henry Fitzroy 3rd Duke Grafton [aged 75] died. His son [his father] George [aged 51] succeeded 4th Duke Grafton, 4th Earl Euston, 4th Viscount Ipswich, 4th Baron Sudbury, 5th Earl Arlington, 5th Viscount Thetford, 5th Baron Arlington of Arlington in Middlesex and 5th Baron Arlington of Arlington in Middlesex.

On 20th June 1812 Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 22] and Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 17] were married at Lisbon [Map]. He the son of George Henry Fitzroy 4th Duke Grafton [aged 52] and Charlotte Maria Waldegrave. They were half fourth cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 25th January 1817 [his daughter] Mary Elizabeth Emily Fitzroy was born to Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 26] and [his wife] Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 21]. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. She married before 22nd August 1887 her half fourth cousin once removed Augustus Frederick Phipps, son of Henry Phipps 1st Earl Mulgrave and Martha Sophia Thomson Maling Countess Mulgrave.

In 1818 [his daughter] Maria Louise Fitzroy Baroness Penrhyn was born to Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 27] and [his wife] Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 22]. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. She married 1846 Edward Gordon Douglas-Pennant 1st Baron Penrhyn.

In 1818 Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 27] was elected MP Bury St Edmunds which seat he held until 1820.

On 5th August 1819 [his son] William Henry Fitzroy 6th Duke Grafton was born to Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 29] and [his wife] Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 24]. He a great x 4 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. He married 10th February 1858 Marie Anne Louise Baring Duchess Grafton, daughter of Francis Baring 3rd Baron Ashburton and Claire Hortense Maret Baroness Ashburton.

Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough

A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

He a great x 4 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. He married 9th June 1847 Anne Balfour and had issue.

In 1823 [his son] Frederick John Fitzroy was born to Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 32] and [his wife] Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 27]. He a great x 4 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. He married in or before 1919 Catherine Wescomb.

In 1826 Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 35] was elected MP Bury St Edmunds which seat he held until 1831.

In 1834 Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 43] was elected MP Thetford which seat he held until 1842.

On 28th September 1844 [his father] George Henry Fitzroy 4th Duke Grafton [aged 84] died. His son Henry [aged 54] succeeded 5th Duke Grafton, 5th Earl Euston, 5th Viscount Ipswich, 5th Baron Sudbury, 6th Earl Arlington, 6th Viscount Thetford, 6th Baron Arlington of Arlington in Middlesex and 6th Baron Arlington of Arlington in Middlesex. [his wife] Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 49] by marriage Duchess Grafton.

In 1846 [his son-in-law] Edward Gordon Douglas-Pennant 1st Baron Penrhyn [aged 45] and Maria Louise Fitzroy Baroness Penrhyn [aged 28] were married. They had eight daughters. She the daughter of Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 55] and Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 50].

On 9th June 1847 Augustus Charles Lennox Fitzroy 7th Duke Grafton [aged 25] and Anne Balfour [aged 22] were married. He the son of Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 57] and Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 51].

On 10th February 1858 William Henry Fitzroy 6th Duke Grafton [aged 38] and Marie Anne Louise Baring Duchess Grafton [aged 25] were married. He the son of Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 68] and Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 62].

On 26th March 1863 Henry Fitzroy 5th Duke Grafton [aged 73] died at Wakefield Lodge, Pottersbury. His son William [aged 43] succeeded 6th Duke Grafton, 6th Earl Euston, 6th Viscount Ipswich, 6th Baron Sudbury, 7th Earl Arlington, 7th Viscount Thetford, 7th Baron Arlington of Arlington in Middlesex and 7th Baron Arlington of Arlington in Middlesex. Marie Anne Louise Baring Duchess Grafton [aged 30] by marriage Duchess Grafton.

On 10th September 1873 [his former wife] Mary Caroline Berkeley Duchess Grafton [aged 78] died.
