Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 19th August 1694 Elizabeth Shirley Countess Northampton was born to Robert Shirley [aged 20] and Anne Ferrers [aged 16].
On 25th February 1699 [her father] Robert Shirley [aged 25] died of smallpox.
In 1716 James Compton 5th Earl of Northampton [aged 28] and Elizabeth Shirley Countess Northampton [aged 21] were married. She by marriage Baroness Compton of Compton in Warwickshire. He by marriage Baron Ferrers of Chartley. He the son of George Compton 4th Earl of Northampton [aged 51] and Jane Fox Countess Northampton [aged 47].
On 25th December 1717 [her grandfather] Robert Shirley 1st Earl Ferrers [aged 67] died. His son [her uncle] Washington [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Earl Ferrers, 8th Baronet Shirley of Staunton Harold in Leicestershire. Mary Levinge Countess Ferrers by marriage Countess Ferrers. His granddaughter Elizabeth [aged 23] succeeded 15th Baroness Ferrers of Chartley.
On 15th April 1727 [her father-in-law] George Compton 4th Earl of Northampton [aged 62] died. His son [her husband] James [aged 39] succeeded 5th Earl of Northampton. Elizabeth Shirley Countess Northampton [aged 32] by marriage Countess of Northampton.

On 13th March 1741 Elizabeth Shirley Countess Northampton [aged 46] died. Baron Ferrers of Chartley abeyant.
On 3rd October 1754 [her former husband] James Compton 5th Earl of Northampton [aged 67] died. His brother [her former brother-in-law] George [aged 62] succeeded 6th Earl of Northampton. His daughter Charlotte succeeded 7th Baroness Compton of Compton in Warwickshire.
Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

She married 19th December 1751 her sixth cousin George Townshend 1st Marquess Townshend, son of Charles Townshend 3rd Viscount Townsend and Audrey aka Etheldreda Harrison, and had issue.
