George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough 1793-1857

On 15th September 1791 [his father] George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough [aged 25] and [his mother] Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] John Stewart 7th Earl Galloway [aged 55] and [his grandmother] Anne Dashwood Countess Galloway [aged 48]. He the son of George Spencer 4th Duke of Marlborough [aged 52] and Caroline Russell Duchess of Marlborough [aged 48].

On 27th December 1793 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough was born to George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough [aged 27] and Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 26].

On 29th January 1817 [his grandfather] George Spencer 4th Duke of Marlborough [aged 78] died. His son [his father] George [aged 50] succeeded 5th Duke Marlborough, 5th Marquess of Blandford, 5th Earl of Marlborough, 5th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 7th Earl of Sunderland, 9th Baron Spencer Wormleighton. [his mother] Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 49] by marriage Duchess Marlborough.

In 1818 [his daughter] Susan Spencer-Churchill was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 24].

On 13th January 1819 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 25] and Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of George Stewart 8th Earl Galloway [aged 50] and Jane Paget Countess Galloway [aged 44]. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough [aged 52] and Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 51]. They were first cousins.

Around 1820 [his daughter] Louisa Spencer-Churchill was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 26] and [his wife] Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 22]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.26%. She married before 17th June 1881 her first cousin once removed Robert Spencer, son of Francis Almeric Spencer 1st Baron Churchill and Frances Fitzroy Baroness Churchill Wychwood.

On 2nd June 1822 [his son] John Winston Spencer-Churchill 7th Duke of Marlborough was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 28] and [his wife] Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 24]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.26%. He married 12th July 1843 Frances Anne Emily Vane Duchess of Marlborough, daughter of Charles William Vane 3rd Marquess Londonderry and Frances Vane Tempest Marchioness Londonderry, and had issue.

In 1824 [his son] Alfred Spencer-Churchill was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 30] and [his wife] Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 26]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.26%. He married 5th February 1857 his third cousin Harriett Louisa Hester Gough, daughter of Frederick Gough 4th Baron Calthorpe and Charlotte Sophia Somerset Baroness Calthorpe, and had issue.

On 25th July 1825 [his son] Alan Spencer-Churchill was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 31] and [his wife] Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 27]. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.26%. He married Rosalind Dowker.

On 9th August 1833 [his brother-in-law] Randolph Stewart 9th Earl Galloway [aged 33] and Harriet Blanche Somerset Countess Galloway [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of Henry Charles Somerset 6th Duke Beaufort [aged 66] and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Beaufort [aged 62]. He the son of [his uncle] George Stewart 8th Earl Galloway [aged 65] and [his mother-in-law] Jane Paget Countess Galloway [aged 58]. They were second cousins.

On 27th March 1834 [his uncle] George Stewart 8th Earl Galloway [aged 66] died. His son [his brother-in-law] Randolph [aged 34] succeeded 9th Earl Galloway, 8th Baronet Stewart of Corsewall, 7th Baronet Stewart of Burray in Orkney. Harriet Blanche Somerset Countess Galloway [aged 22] by marriage Countess Galloway.

On 5th March 1840 [his father] George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough [aged 73] died. His son George [aged 46] succeeded 6th Duke Marlborough, 6th Marquess of Blandford, 6th Earl of Marlborough, 6th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 8th Earl of Sunderland, 10th Baron Spencer Wormleighton. [his wife] Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 42] by marriage Duchess Marlborough.

On 2nd April 1841 [his mother] Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 73] died.

On 12th July 1843 John Winston Spencer-Churchill 7th Duke of Marlborough [aged 21] and Frances Anne Emily Vane Duchess of Marlborough [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of Charles William Vane 3rd Marquess Londonderry [aged 65] and Frances Vane Tempest Marchioness Londonderry [aged 43]. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 49] and Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 45].

In 1844 [his wife] Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough [aged 46] died.

On 10th June 1846 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 52] and Charlotte Augusta Flower Duchess of Marlborough [aged 28] were married. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. The difference in their ages was 24 years. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough and Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough.

In 1847 [his son] Almeric Athelstan Spencer-Churchill was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 53] and [his wife] Charlotte Augusta Flower Duchess of Marlborough [aged 29]. He died aged nine in 1856.

On 4th May 1848 [his daughter] Clementina Augusta Spencer-Churchill Countess Camden was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 54] and [his wife] Charlotte Augusta Flower Duchess of Marlborough [aged 30]. She married after 6th August 1866 John Charles Pratt 3rd Marquess Camden, son of George Pratt 2nd Marquess Camden and Harriet Murray Marchioness Camden, and had issue.

In 1850 [his wife] Charlotte Augusta Flower Duchess of Marlborough [aged 32] died.

On 18th October 1851 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 57] and Jane Francis Stewart Duchess Marlborough were married. She by marriage Duchess Marlborough. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 5th Duke of Marlborough and Susan Stewart Duchess of Marlborough. They were first cousins.

On 28th March 1853 [his son] Edward Spencer-Churchill was born to George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 59] and [his wife] Jane Francis Stewart Duchess Marlborough. Coefficient of inbreeding 6.28%. He married 15th September 1874 Augusta Warburton and had issue.

On 12th December 1856 [his son] Almeric Athelstan Spencer-Churchill [aged 9] died.

On 5th February 1857 Alfred Spencer-Churchill [aged 33] and Harriett Louisa Hester Gough [aged 25] were married. He the son of George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 63] and Jane Stewart Duchess of Marlborough. They were third cousins.

On 1st July 1857 George Spencer-Churchill 6th Duke of Marlborough [aged 63] died. His son John [aged 35] succeeded 7th Duke Marlborough, 7th Marquess of Blandford, 7th Earl of Marlborough, 7th Baron Churchill of Sandridge in Hertfordshire, 9th Earl of Sunderland, 11th Baron Spencer Wormleighton. Frances Anne Emily Vane Duchess of Marlborough [aged 35] by marriage Duchess Marlborough.
