In July 1563 [her future husband] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 27] and Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 13] were married. They were half first cousin twice removed.
On 23rd January 1581 [her father] James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray [aged 16] and [her mother] Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray [aged 15] were married. Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray by marriage Lord Doune. He by marriage 2nd Earl Moray. She the daughter of [her grandfather] James Stewart 1st Earl of Moray Regent and [her grandmother] Agnes Keith Countess Moray and Mar [aged 50]. They were third cousins. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.
In 1591 Margaret Stewart 1st Countess Nottingham was born to James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray [aged 26] and Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray [aged 25]. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.
On 18th November 1591 [her mother] Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray [aged 26] died.
On 7th February 1592 [her father] James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray [aged 27] was murdered. His succeeded son [her brother] James Stewart 3rd Earl of Moray [aged 1] succeeded 3rd Earl Moray.
Moray, in expectation of a summons to the court, had arrived at Donibristle, a house on the Fife coast owned by his mother [her grandmother] Margaret Campbell [deceased]. The house was suddenly beset by the followers of George Gordon 1st Marquess Huntly [aged 30], who called on him to surrender. He declined to do so, and the house was set on fire. Moray escaped but was subsequently killed.
The next day, the corpses of the earl and of Dunbar, Sheriff of Moray, who had also been killed in the attack, were brought to Leith by the earl's mother Margaret Campbell. She intended to confront King James VI [aged 25] and demand that Huntly be brought to justice. The body displayed in the St Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh; a 'vendetta portrait' showing his wounds was commissioned.
The body remained on display for five years. He was eventually buried on the orders of King James.
James Stewart 3rd Earl of Moray: Before 1591 he was born to James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray and Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray. He a great x 3 grandson of King Henry VII of England and Ireland. On 2nd October 1607 James Stewart 3rd Earl of Moray and Anne Gordon Countess Moray were married. Anne Gordon Countess Moray by marriage Countess Moray. She the daughter of George Gordon 1st Marquess Huntly and Henrietta Stewart Marchioness Huntly. He the son of James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray and Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray. They were half third cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King Henry VII of England and Ireland. On 6th August 1638 James Stewart 3rd Earl of Moray died. His succeeded son James Stewart 4th Earl of Moray succeeded 4th Earl Moray.
Margaret Campbell: In 1544 she was born to Archibald Campbell 4th Earl Argyll and Margaret Graham Countess Argyll. On 10th January 1563 James Stewart 1st Lord Doune and she were married. There was a masque involving courtiers and musicians dressed in white taffeta as shepherds. She the daughter of Archibald Campbell 4th Earl Argyll and Margaret Graham Countess Argyll. They were half third cousin once removed. In February 1592 Margaret Campbell died.
On 22nd October 1597 [her future husband] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 61] was created 1st Earl Nottingham. Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 47] by marriage Countess Nottingham.
In September 1603 Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 67] and Margaret Stewart 1st Countess Nottingham [aged 12] were married. She by marriage Countess Nottingham. The difference in their ages was 55 years. She the daughter of James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray and Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray. They were half fourth cousin twice removed. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.
In 1604 John Stewart 1st Earl Carrick [aged 38] and [her step-daughter] Elizabeth Howard Countess Carrick [aged 39] were married. She the daughter of [her husband] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 68] and Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham. He the son of Robert Stewart 1st Earl Orkney [aged 71] and Jean Kennedy Countess Orkney. They were half fifth cousins. He a great x 2 grandson of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

In 1612 [her daughter] Anne Howard was born to [her husband] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 76] and Margaret Stewart 1st Countess Nottingham [aged 21]. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland. She married 29th December 1627 Alexander Stewart, son of Alexander Stewart 1st Earl Galloway.
On 28th November 1615 [her step-son] William Howard 3rd Baron Howard of Effingham [aged 37] died.
On 22nd April 1620 [her step-son] Charles Howard 2nd Earl Nottingham [aged 40] and Mary Cockayne 1st Countess Nottingham were married. Mary Cockayne 1st Countess Nottingham by marriage Countess Nottingham. She the daughter of William Cockayne [aged 59] and Mary Morris Countess Dover [aged 55]. He the son of [her husband] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 84] and Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham.
On 14th December 1624 [her husband] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 88] died. His succeeded son [her step-son] Charles [aged 45] succeeded 2nd Earl Nottingham, 3rd Baron Howard of Effingham. Mary Cockayne 1st Countess Nottingham by marriage Countess Nottingham.

In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. On 6th August 1638 [her brother] James Stewart 3rd Earl of Moray [aged 47] died. His succeeded son [her nephew] James Stewart 4th Earl of Moray [aged 27] succeeded 4th Earl Moray.
Before 4th August 1639 William Monson 1st Viscount Monson [aged 40] and Margaret Stewart 1st Countess Nottingham [aged 48] were married. She the daughter of James "The Bonnie Earl" Stewart 2nd Earl of Moray and Elizabeth Stewart 2nd Countess Moray.
On 4th August 1639 Margaret Stewart 1st Countess Nottingham [aged 48] died at her house in Covent Garden [Map].
