He the son of Charles V Holy Roman Emperor [aged 43] and Isabel Aviz Queen Consort Spain. They were double first cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
On 2nd April 1545 Elizabeth Valois Queen Consort Spain was born to King Henry II of France [aged 26] and Catherine Medici Queen Consort France [aged 25].
On 31st March 1547 [her grandfather] King Francis I of France [aged 52] died. His son [her father] Henry [aged 28] succeeded II King France: Capet Valois Angoulême.
On 24th October 1550 [her brother] Louis Valois Duke Orléans [aged 1] died.
On 25th July 1554 [her future husband] Prince Philip of Spain [aged 27] and Queen Mary [aged 38] were married by Bishop Stephen Gardiner [aged 71] at Winchester Cathedral [Map]. On 21st September 1558 Charles V Holy Roman Emperor [aged 58] died at the Monastery of Yuste [Map]. His son [her future husband] Philip [aged 31] succeeded II King Spain.
On 17th November 1558 Queen Mary I of England and Ireland [aged 42] died at St James's Palace [Map]. Her half sister Elizabeth [aged 25] succeeded I Queen of England. William Brooke 10th Baron Cobham [aged 31] was deputed with informing [her future husband] Philip "The Prudent" II King Spain [aged 31].
Thomas Wendy [aged 58] attended the Queen as physician; the third monarch's death he attended.
In 1559 [her brother-in-law] Charles "The Great" Lorraine III Duke Lorraine [aged 15] and [her sister] Claude Valois Duchess Lorraine [aged 11] were married. She by marriage Duchess Lorraine. She the daughter of [her father] King Henry II of France [aged 39] and [her mother] Catherine Medici Queen Consort France [aged 39]. He the son of Francis Lorraine I Duke Lorraine and Christina Oldenburg Duchess Lorraine [aged 37]. They were fourth cousins.
On 10th July 1559 [her father] King Henry II of France [aged 40] was killed whilst jousting in celebration of his daughter's [aged 14] marriage to [her future husband] Philip "The Prudent" II King Spain [aged 32]. His son [her brother] Francis [aged 15] succeeded II King France: Capet Valois Angoulême. [her sister-in-law] Mary Queen of Scots [aged 16] by marriage Queen Consort France. They would reign for eighteen months only with Francis dying in Dec 1560. Francis and Mary would have no issue.

The xx day of July [her husband] kyng Phelype [aged 32] was mared [married] unto the [her father] Frenche kyng('s) [deceased] dowthur [aged 14], and grett justes mad ther, and the Frenche kyng dyd just [joust], and ther he had on of ys ees stryken owtt with a spyld [splinter] of a spayre, that he ded of the stroke, by one (blank).

On 5th December 1560 Francis II King France King Consort Scotland [aged 16] died, possibly from an ear abscess, in the Hotel Groslot, Orléans. On 23rd December 1560 he was buried at the Basilica of St Denis [Map]. His brother Charles [aged 10] succeeded IX King France: Capet Valois Angoulême; his mother Catherine Medici Queen Consort France [aged 41] acted as Regent. His wife Mary Queen of Scots [aged 17] returned to Scotland arriving at Leith 19th August 1561 after having been in France for thirteen years.

William of Worcester's Chronicle of England
William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

On 12th August 1566 [her daughter] Infanta Isabella Habsburg Spain was born to [her husband] Philip "The Prudent" II King Spain [aged 39] and Elizabeth Valois Queen Consort Spain [aged 21]. She married her first cousin Albert Habsburg Spain VII Archduke Austria, son of Maximilian Habsburg Spain II Holy Roman Emperor and Maria of Spain Holy Roman Empress.
On 10th October 1567 [her daughter] Catherine Habsburg Spain Duchess Savoy was born to [her husband] Philip "The Prudent" II King Spain [aged 40] and Elizabeth Valois Queen Consort Spain [aged 22]. She married 1584 her first cousin once removed Charles Emmanuel Savoy I Duke Savoy, son of Emmanuel Philibert Duke of Savoy and Margaret Valois Duchess Berry and Savoy, and had issue.
On 24th July 1568 [her step-son] Carlos Habsburg Spain [aged 23] died.
On 3rd October 1568 Elizabeth Valois Queen Consort Spain [aged 23] died.
In 1570 [her former husband] Philip "The Prudent" II King Spain [aged 42] and Anna of Austria Queen Consort Spain [aged 20] were married. She by marriage Queen Consort Spain. The difference in their ages was 22 years. She the daughter of Maximilian Habsburg Spain II Holy Roman Emperor [aged 42] and [her former sister-in-law] Maria of Spain Holy Roman Empress [aged 41]. He the son of Charles V Holy Roman Emperor and Isabel Aviz Queen Consort Spain. They were uncle and niece. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England.
On 13th September 1598 [her former husband] Philip "The Prudent" II King Spain [aged 71] died. His son Philip [aged 20] succeeded III King Spain.
