In 1587 [his daughter] Elizabeth Poyntz was born to John Poyntz [aged 27] and [his wife] Elizabeth Sydenham [aged 25]. She married before 1610 Thomas Butler Viscount Thurles, son of Walter Butler 11th Earl Ormonde 4th Earl Ossory and Helen Butler Countess Ormonde and Ossory, and had issue.

In 1588 [his son] Robert Poyntz was born to John Poyntz [aged 28] and [his wife] Elizabeth Sydenham [aged 26]. He married 14th June 1604 Frances Gibbons and had issue.

On 15th April 1591 Gervase aka Jarvis Gibbons [aged 24] and [his future wife] Grissell Roberts were married.

Before 1592 John Poyntz [aged 31] and Frances Newton Baroness Cobham [aged 52] were married. The difference in their ages was 21 years; she, unusually, being older than him. They were first cousin once removed.

On 24th January 1619 Henry Brooke 11th Baron Cobham [aged 54] died. His nephew William [aged 20] de jure 12th Baron Cobham but he was unable to claim the title since it was suject to an attainder.

In 1621 [his step-daughter] Margaret Brooke [aged 57] died.

In 1633 John Poyntz [aged 73] died.

In 1648 [his former wife] Grissell Roberts died.
