Frances Howard Countess Kildare was born to Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham and Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham.

In July 1563 [her father] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 27] and [her mother] Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 13] were married. They were half first cousin twice removed.

On 12th January 1573 [her grandfather] William Howard 1st Baron Howard [aged 63] died at Hampton Court Palace, Richmond [Map]. He was buried at Reigate, Surrey [Map]. His son [her father] Charles [aged 37] succeeded 2nd Baron Howard of Effingham. [her mother] Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 23] by marriage Baroness Howard of Effingham.

On 4th October 1581 Henry Wriothesley 2nd Earl of Southampton [aged 36] died. His son Henry [aged 7] succeeded 3rd Earl of Southampton. His wardship was sold by the Queen to her kinsman, [her father] Charles, Lord Howard of Effingham [aged 45], for £1000. Howard then transferred his wardship to William Cecil 1st Baron Burghley [aged 61].

On 16th November 1585 Gerald "Wizard Earl" Fitzgerald 11th Earl of Kildare [aged 60] died. His son [her future husband] Henry [aged 23] succeeded 12th Earl Kildare.

In 1589 Henry Fitzgerald 12th Earl of Kildare [aged 27] and Frances Howard Countess Kildare were married. She by marriage Countess Kildare. She the daughter of Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 53] and Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 39]. He the son of Gerald "Wizard Earl" Fitzgerald 11th Earl of Kildare and Mabel Browne Countess Kildare [aged 53]. They were fifth cousin once removed.

Around 1590 [her daughter] Bridget Fitzgerald Viscountess Barnewell was born to [her husband] Henry Fitzgerald 12th Earl of Kildare [aged 28] and Frances Howard Countess Kildare. She married (1) before October 1606 Rory O'Donnell 1st Earl of Tyrconnell and had issue (2) before 7th July 1617 Nicholas Barnewall 1st Viscount Barnewell and had issue.

On 6th March 1597 William Brooke 10th Baron Cobham [aged 69] died. His son [her future husband] Henry [aged 32] succeeded 11th Baron Cobham.

On 19th May 1597 [her brother] Charles Howard 2nd Earl Nottingham [aged 17] and [her sister-in-law] Charity White were married. He the son of [her father] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 61] and [her mother] Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 47].

In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. On 22nd October 1597 [her father] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 61] was created 1st Earl Nottingham. [her mother] Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 47] by marriage Countess Nottingham.

Letters of John Chamberlain Volume 1. [17th January 1599] There is a mariage spoken of twixt the [her future husband] Lord Cobham [aged 34]24 and the Countesse of Kildare,25 and betwene his lame brother Master [her future brother-in-law] George Brooke [aged 30]26 and the Lord Borroughs eldest daughter. Yt is saide likewise that Sir Will: Woodhouse hath married27 the Lady Southwell,28 and the Lord Marquis29 woman or concubine (before he is buried) hath married a youth not full eightene yeares old, younger sonne to Master Fleetwoode30 recever of the court of wardes.

On 25th February 1603 [her mother] Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham [aged 53] died at Arundel House [Map]. She was buried in Chelsea Old Church on 25th April 1603.

On 3rd June 1603 a number of English noble ladies selected by the Privy Council greeted Anne of Denmark Queen Consort Scotland England and Ireland [aged 28] at Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland [Map] with two-hundred horse including...

In 1604 [her brother-in-law] John Stewart 1st Earl Carrick [aged 38] and [her sister] Elizabeth Howard Countess Carrick [aged 39] were married. She the daughter of [her father] Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham [aged 68] and [her mother] Katherine Carey Countess Nottingham. He the son of Robert Stewart 1st Earl Orkney [aged 71] and Jean Kennedy Countess Orkney. They were half fifth cousins. He a great x 2 grandson of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

Before October 1606 [her son-in-law] Rory O'Donnell 1st Earl of Tyrconnell [aged 31] and Bridget Fitzgerald Viscountess Barnewell [aged 16] were married. She the daughter of Henry Fitzgerald 12th Earl of Kildare and Frances Howard Countess Kildare.

In 1611 [her daughter] Elizabeth Fitzgerald died.

Before 7th July 1617 [her son-in-law] Nicholas Barnewall 1st Viscount Barnewell [aged 25] and Bridget Fitzgerald Viscountess Barnewell [aged 27] were married. They had five sons and four daughters. She the daughter of Henry Fitzgerald 12th Earl of Kildare and Frances Howard Countess Kildare.

On 24th January 1619 [her husband] Henry Brooke 11th Baron Cobham [aged 54] died. His nephew William [aged 20] de jure 12th Baron Cobham but he was unable to claim the title since it was suject to an attainder.
