Charles III King Spain 1716-1788

On 3rd November 1701 [his father] Philippe V King Spain [aged 17] and Maria Luisa Savoy [aged 13] were married. She the daughter of Victor Amadeus King Sardinia [aged 35] and Anne Marie Bourbon Queen Consort Sardinia [aged 32]. He the son of [his grandfather] Louis "Le Grand Dauphin" Bourbon Duke Burgundy [aged 40] and [his grandmother] Maria Anna Victoria Wittelsbach Duchess Burgundy. They were second cousins. She a great granddaughter of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland.

On 24th December 1714 [his father] Philippe V King Spain [aged 31] and [his mother] Elisabeth Farnese Queen Consort Spain [aged 22] were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Louis "Le Grand Dauphin" Bourbon Duke Burgundy and [his grandmother] Maria Anna Victoria Wittelsbach Duchess Burgundy.

On 20th January 1716 Charles III King Spain was born to Philippe V King Spain [aged 32] and Elisabeth Farnese Queen Consort Spain [aged 23].

On 20th January 1722 [his half-brother] Louis I King Spain [aged 14] and [his sister-in-law] Louise Élisabeth Bourbon Queen Consort Spain [aged 12] were married. She the daughter of Philippe Bourbon II Duke Orléans [aged 47] and Françoise Marie Bourbon Duchess Orléans [aged 44]. He the son of [his father] Philippe V King Spain [aged 38] and Maria Luisa Savoy. They were half first cousin once removed. He a great x 2 grandson of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.

On 15th January 1724 [his father] Philippe V King Spain [aged 40] abdicated. His son [his half-brother] Louis [aged 16] succeeded I King Spain. [his sister-in-law] Louise Élisabeth Bourbon Queen Consort Spain [aged 14] by marriage Queen Consort Spain. Louis reigned for seven months before he died after which Phillipe was re-instated as King.

On 31st August 1724 [his half-brother] Louis I King Spain [aged 17] died of smallpox. He was buried at the El Escorial Palace. [his father] Philippe V King Spain [aged 40] returned to the Spanish throne.

In 1738 Charles III King Spain [aged 21] and Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain [aged 13] were married. He the son of Philippe V King Spain [aged 54] and Elisabeth Farnese Queen Consort Spain [aged 45]. They were fourth cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.

On 6th July 1744 [his daughter] Infanta Maria Josefa of Spain was born to Charles III King Spain [aged 28] and [his wife] Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain [aged 19].

On 24th November 1745 [his daughter] Infanta Maria Luisa of Spain was born to Charles III King Spain [aged 29] and [his wife] Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain [aged 21]. She married 5th August 1765 her second cousin once removed Leopold II Holy Roman Emperor, son of Francis I Holy Roman Emperor and Maria Theresa Habsburg Spain Holy Roman Empress, and had issue.

On 9th July 1746 [his father] Philippe V King Spain [aged 62] died at the El Escorial Palace. His son [his half-brother] Ferdinand [aged 32] succeeded VI King Spain. [his sister-in-law] Barbara Queen Consort Spain [aged 34] by marriage Queen Consort Spain.

On 11th November 1748 [his son] Charles IV King Spain was born to Charles III King Spain [aged 32] and [his wife] Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain [aged 23]. He married 1765 his first cousin Maria Luisa of Parma, daughter of Infante Philip of Spain and Louise Elisabeth of France, and had issue.

On 12th January 1751 [his son] Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies was born to Charles III King Spain [aged 34] and [his wife] Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain [aged 26]. He married 1768 his second cousin once removed Maria Caroline of Austria Queen Consort of Naples and Sicily, daughter of Francis I Holy Roman Emperor and Maria Theresa Habsburg Spain Holy Roman Empress, and had issue.

On 10th August 1759 [his half-brother] Ferdinand VI King Spain [aged 45] died without issue. His half brother Charles [aged 43] succeeded King Spain.

On 27th September 1760 [his wife] Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain [aged 35] died.

In 1765 Charles IV King Spain [aged 16] and Maria Luisa of Parma [aged 13] were married. He the son of Charles III King Spain [aged 48] and Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain. They were first cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland.

On 5th August 1765 [his son-in-law] Leopold II Holy Roman Emperor [aged 18] and Infanta Maria Luisa of Spain [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of Charles III King Spain [aged 49] and Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain. He the son of Francis I Holy Roman Emperor [aged 56] and Maria Theresa Habsburg Spain Holy Roman Empress [aged 48]. They were second cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.

On 11th July 1766 [his mother] Elisabeth Farnese Queen Consort Spain [aged 73] died.

In 1768 Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies [aged 16] and Maria Caroline of Austria Queen Consort of Naples and Sicily [aged 15] were married. She the daughter of Francis I Holy Roman Emperor and Maria Theresa Habsburg Spain Holy Roman Empress [aged 50]. He the son of Charles III King Spain [aged 51] and Maria Amalia of Saxony Queen Consort Spain. They were second cousin once removed. He a great x 5 grandson of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland.

On 14th December 1788 Charles III King Spain [aged 72] died. His son Charles [aged 40] succeeded IV King Spain.
