The King of Spain [aged 20] landing at Portsmouth, Hampshire [Map], came to Windsor, Berkshire [Map], where he was magnificently entertained by the Queen [aged 38], and behaved himself so nobly, that everybody was taken with his graceful deportment. After two days, having presented the great ladies, and others, with valuable jewels, he went back to Portsmouth, Hampshire [Map], and immediately embarked for Spain.

On 25th August 1707 [his son] Louis I King Spain was born to Philippe V King Spain [aged 23] and [his wife] Maria Luisa Savoy [aged 18]. The History of William Marshal, Earl of Chepstow and Pembroke, Regent of England. Book 1 of 2, Lines 1-10152.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

On 15th January 1724 Philippe V King Spain [aged 40] abdicated. His son Louis [aged 16] succeeded I King Spain. Louise Élisabeth Bourbon Queen Consort Spain [aged 14] by marriage Queen Consort Spain. Louis reigned for seven months before he died after which Phillipe was re-instated as King.

On 31st August 1724 [his son] Louis I King Spain [aged 17] died of smallpox. He was buried at the El Escorial Palace. Philippe V King Spain [aged 40] returned to the Spanish throne.

On 11th June 1726 [his daughter] Infanta Maria Teresa Rafaela of Spain was born to Philippe V King Spain [aged 42] and [his wife] Elisabeth Farnese Queen Consort Spain [aged 33]. She married 23rd February 1745 her first cousin once removed Dauphin Louis Bourbon and had issue.

On 25th July 1727 [his son] Infante Louis of Spain was born to Philippe V King Spain [aged 43] and [his wife] Elisabeth Farnese Queen Consort Spain [aged 34].

She married 31st May 1750 her third cousin Victor Amadeus III King Sardinia, son of Charles Emmanuel III King Sardinia and Polyxena Hesse Rotenburg Queen Consort Sardinia, and had issue.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 29th September 1833 [his great grandson] Ferdinand VII King Spain [aged 48] died. His daughter Isabella [aged 2] succeeded Queen Spain. Her succession was disputed by her uncle Infante Carlos María Isidro of Spain [aged 45] since her father Ferdinand VII King Spain had modified the laws of the Salic Spanish Succession, known as the Pragmatic Sanction, shortly before her birth. Traditionally the Spanish succession has allowed females to inherit. When Philippe V King Spain inherited the throne he introduced the French Salic Law barring females.
